Went to check out the Kaibab National Forest and the Grand Canyon for the 1st time and glad I was able to knock that off the bucket list. Glad I installed the skid plates because some of the MVUM have not been travelled on in awhile.
I didn’t have the factory skid plate since I knew I wanted better ones. I think you could not have the engine RCI skid plate but buy the transmission and transfer case one if you want more coverage.
I would also recommend true rock sliders. Currently I have some being built.
Today's project was to install my RCI aluminum skid plates. Overall build quality is very nice, though instructions could be more clear for the bracket install. Overall the install was pretty easy, although I spend an hour trying to get one 10M speed nut onto the frame (their speed nuts are very...
Decided to relocate the rear diff breather to the engine bay. Turns out, Ford either forgot to install the axle vent onto the end of the tube or it somehow fell out. I put an adaptor for a 1/4" line that came with the ARB breather kit I bought (granted overpriced, but well built). Glad I...
For the most part, I agree with this. My best trip I've ever taken was one with no plan and we flipped a coin to make decision. However, sometimes with a time constraint I have to rely on some sort of plan so at least I can get an outline of what is achievable. Usually for those I buffer a day...
San Bernardino National Forest/Big Bear. Yea the Main Divide has been pretty much closed since I don't know how long. Today I tried to do Suagrpine Mountain Trail but no luck for me I guess.
Decided to go off on a little adventure today...only to get a punctured sidewall a quarter of the way through. :tearsofjoy: At least I got to test my SafeJack.
Hey all,
Turns out my current job may have an IT shutdown for 2 weeks either the last 2 weeks of September or the 2 weeks of October. With this happening, I decided to look at some trips I could possibly take. I saw this route on Expedition Portal and I think I may attempt it. Looking for...
It is pricier by maybe consider the Garmin Inreach Mini?
Connects via bluetooth and you have the added ability to signal for help or keep in contact with the outside world through text, although subscription is required.
If you don't have a PLB, this would be a good option.
Went on a moderate off-road trail today and the F-150 did well. The trail had ruts, rocks, lots of off-camber, and some steeps hills. Being a full-size, I couldn't go to too crazy of things, but overall it did well. Only locked the diffs on one area and for the most part stayed in 4H. 4L did...
