Kaibab National Forest is a great spot. You can get a site right next to the Norrh rim if you go early enough. Bring either a chainsaw or handsaw as down trees are common.
No major obstacles and it’s pretty much a fire road.
Has anyone had a satellite map fail to download? I recently downloaded 7 different maps and every single layer other than satellite was downloaded successfully.
I’ve had both and in my opinion Rigd is the better option. I had to switch to the Wilco due to my rear bumper and miss the Rigd.
Not a fan of how the bolts are not secured in place on the Wilco.
The National Forest websites lists all the rules on disperse camping. Do the research being going and maybe stop by the ranger station if they are open.
For me, I like the versatility of the ditch mount. For day runs (which is what I do mostly), I use them as my amber lights for when I run tail end Charlie. At night, I adjust them like you said more left and right at a 45 degree and down. It gives me that little extra visibility on the sides...
I have an exped megamat 10 and megamat duo. The sleeping bag is a Sierra design backcountry bed 2 person bag.
What I day is fold the duo, fold the single and put it all the way against the hinge. The 2 pillows go on the hump side and the sleeping bag is spread down the exped. I try to keep...
I have the iKamper 2.0 and love it mainly because it folds out to a King side bed. Setup is a minute and folding the same.
I have to do a little more work on tear down since I have to fold the exped mattress, double sleeping bags, and pillow the right way to make it fit. Tight but doable...
So I thought I would never get one because I don't really cook compared to my wife. However, I just traveled with a buddy who has one and one nice thing about it is the ease of cleaning. The usual arrangement when I travel is the person who doesn't cook cleans the dishes. Not having to do...
I love my F-150, but reliability long term I still can’t comment on. It’s a 2018 with 53k miles so still early.
Other Toyota’s I’ve owned lasted forever but I can’t say about tundras.
Tundras has a lot of aftermarket overland stuff, while F-150 has decent but not nearly as many options...
Pretty minor updates. Finally deleted the chrome all of the truck. Took the truck to Soldier Pass in Sedona and was nice going on a trail with not many other trucks. After 8 months also finally got my license plate from the DMV!
Depends on the type of driving you do. If you are doing some moderate off roading, I would say it’s worth it to drop the 2” of wheel and gain 2” of tire for airing down and such.
