You're probably aware, but that is an insanely (obnoxiously) busy area and that is beginning of peak season. If you legit want a planned place to stay you will probably be wise to find and reserve a spot, free sites fill up immediately. If your first plan is free dispersed and if you can'r find...
I may have been unclear, but yes the Fox 2.5 lack adequate dampening for anything more than an unloaded vehicle. they didn't get soft, they started out soft.
Thanks for the reply
Springs are fine (see the bump stop part), the Fox 2.5 are not designed to tow, and they do not work well (unsurprisingly) in that application.
Personally I'm not looking for an "off road" shock, I'm looking for a shock that can be used off road with a bias toward better control of the wheel...
I put a 2" Mopar lift on my JT which come with Fox 2.5, the truck has an ARE shell, and I pull a 2500ish lb trailer.
The Fox 2.5 are not enough shock front or rear for that, I'm not on the bump stops with regularity, but wheel end control is lacking, so this thread is relative to my interests...
Gravity feeding gasoline is illegal in most States if not federally.
I put a 17 gallon aluminum auxiliary in the bed of my Gladiator, then using the supplied AN connections rigged a quick detachable 12v fuel pump and home brewed charcoal canister.
I rarely use it (but when I need it , it is...
I have a RedArc Manager 30 in my trailer. It works well and I would buy another for that application.
I have a RedArc brake controller in my Jeep, it is unreliable, buggy and overall problematic. Would not buy again.
My trailer has a Dometic 3 burner in a slide, it is virtually worthless above a slight breeze.
I use a Jetboil Base Camp every day. Expensive and worth every penny. Also have a Jetboil Flash just for hot water. If I had it to do over again the kitchen slide would have only countertop and sink.
I'd buy a boat.
Overland brown water style.
Maybe mount quad .50's on the fore deck, a couple M240 on the rear if I'm going near St.Louis, good PA system with "Fortunate Son" on continuous loop.
I use a Champion 2000 to run my A/C (Elwell) , it's going to take a bunch of battery to run A/C for any appreciable amount of time. 1 gallon of gas runs my A/C all night long and any surplus goes to my house battery, so it too is hot in the morning.
I have 2 friges an Iceco JP42 (roto-molded) in the Jeep and I have this battery pack in line between the truck and the frige when the truck is running it passes thru the battery (charging it in the process), then when I shut down for the day the battery powers the frige/freezer through the...
Most impactful mod is a full tank and a budget to replenish it on an ongoing basis.
So new to the hobby , experience is the most valuable asset, so covert money into fuel into experience and identify for yourself what additional mods are needed. Prioritize based on your needs.
I would highly recommend you correct that before going any further while it is easily correctable and accessible.
Consider where energy is directed past the halfway point in the arc of travel (think of a pole vault).
"Trailing arm"
Remove valve core, count to whatever number is necessary to reach the desired pressure (make a cheat sheet), re-install valve core.
Removing the core to re-inflate will also speed the process regardless what kind of compressor you are using, (negligibly off a tank)
The first question I now ask...
