    Don't be "that guy"

Be that as it may, and you are certainly welcome to your opinion, I'd like a link to the video in question so I can form my own opinion. Thanks.

How to tell if it's a trail for SUV/4x4?

If you are going to us Google outside of very well traveled roads, I will absolutely guarantee that you will find yourself in a place you have no business. You will be "Google fornicated" I have no idea what the "CF" designation means and there is very little continuity in naming convention. I...

    Don't be "that guy"

Link to this channel so I can have my own unbiased opinion. Jeeps, American flags and AR15's are all things I love. Never ever even once seen someone on the trail shooting out the window. Have seen people in actual classes and improvisational training shooting from a vehicle and have...

Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

My dogs have been bit many, many times by Copperhead and Water Moccasin. So many times that the vet ultimately sent injectable diphenhydramine hcl (benadryl) antibiotics and pain relievers to keep in my home inventory (I had 10 dogs). If I was taking a dog into rattlesnake country particularly...

Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

It's 2023, "laws" and "legality" are to be regarded or disregarded as you deem fit. I personally have the same level of regard for (federal, state or local) gun laws that they have for immigration laws.

It's not the accuracy that has shifted, it is the awareness.

interesting read, unfortunate events, teaching moment

Oh boy! That got worse before it got better for sure. Aged, wet wood is super slick , and that looks like the section of the bridge he was mounting was absent any decking and he was just straddling those two "beams". I can say with all honesty and certainty, I would not have done that and...

Leaving your 12v fridge plugged in?

So how do you change temperatures? With an app, on just don't? If you just can't change it I would do what you are, and consign it to "use it up" duty and buy another one. Whether or not it ended up being the same brand would depend on the totality of my experience with the brand. I do think it...

Leaving your 12v fridge plugged in?

Right. And there is nothing wrong with that either.

    Shortening synthetic winch line

I can't quote it from memory but there is a minimum transit radius for synthetic winch line (10X the rope diameter maybe), and the line strength is reduced exponentially below that radius. I don't know if that applies (I think probably so) when pulling static and the rope is actually not...

Leaving your 12v fridge plugged in?

I have one in the truck and one in the trailer. Neither are running unless they are needed. They weren't running when they got here, manufacturer doesn't run them in rhe warehouse, it isn't going to be detrimental in any way not to run them.

Pulling an 8000 lb trailer off road

Some would argue that the actual planning is a huge part of the fun, I would be in that group.

Pulling an 8000 lb trailer off road

I worded some of that wrong really but from your response you understand So to be clear is the Conqueror something you already own or is this planning stage? And a/the tow vehicle you currently have nothing to tow it with, is that correct?

    Shortening synthetic winch line

The best way to make a 50' winch line 25' is to run it through a block back to itself. ETA: when I say "itself" I mean the truck

Pulling an 8000 lb trailer off road

Something with front and rear lockers and disconnectable sway bar, and learning to use them before you get stuck. A winch, at least 2 snatch blocks and full compliment of rigging. Does the trailer have recovery points and landing gear that is suitable for skidding the tongue while disconnected...

Comparison of Lightweight Power Stations for Overlanding

LOL, it does have terrible reviews , maybe I should leave a good one because mine really does work very well. It is attached to the molle panel on the back of my driver seat. Unobtrusive and has been very reliable (other than the shitty cigarette lighter plug in that vibrates out and leaves the...

Comparison of Lightweight Power Stations for Overlanding

I have a 256wh running the refrigerator in the truck. That's good for about 1 day if the refrigerator is full and cold. I would like more capacity 4-5 times the capacity or more. 3-4 of the existing units is about he size of a Jackery 500. The inverters aside from being un-needed in my case and...
