Just got settled in Prescott AZ and want to get out and do some trails and overnight trips.

I just got settled in Prescott Arizona and want to start getting out and doing Arizona and possibly southern Utah excursions. I get a three day weekend every other weekend. I like to pull my trailer and can drop it at a base camp to explore or if it is a moderate trail, pull it along. I am...

Old to Camping New to Overlanding

Some how nudist and ice climbing are a strange combination.

    Adventury Teardrop Build

Nice craftsmanship. Nothing like the pride when someone asks where you bought it.

Old to Camping New to Overlanding

Welcome from Colorado / Arizona. Similar backgrounds and age. City girl wife got tired of sleeping on the ground, hence the teardrop trailer.

Anybody in the Prescott, AZ area I want to rent a room for 6-8 months?

I am an aerospace engineer who does contract work all over the country. My home is in Northern Colorado but I just got a 6-8 month contract in Prescott, AZ. I am married (46 years), but will be by myself. I am a non-smoker. I would like to have at least minimal access to a kitchen, and don't...

Sometimes I think we've gone too far.

I like it the simpler the better, but I married a city girl and my old bones don't like sleeping on the cold ground. I enjoy the designing and fabricating when I can't get away.

Hate to complain since it is free but few roads are in the systems as of now.

    Need a good axe!

Any axe is quickly useless without a good file and a finishing whetstone, and knowing how to use it. Personally I carry one I got at HF. I tecommend a composite handle. Lack of expertise leads to a lot of cracked axe handles.

    Moab - Canyonlands and Arches

I recommend for a slick rock starter trail, Fin and Things. It is pretty safe but will induce pucker factor in flatlanders. If you get though this, I might try Hell's Revenge if you want some more adrenaline rush.

    Cell phone booster?

It is nice heading across Wyoming on I80 but in the Colorado mountains where I tend to go, it is of no help.

    My first Overland mod

My first mod was 24 years ago and it was a 2" budget boost and a set of 31's.

Do you really need heated seats and remote start?

I am an engineer so I designed and built mine from scratch. Check out the build thread. There are over $5000 in materials alone.

I guess you guys want the water in your bidet on your camp toilet heated? :grinning:
