Regionalizing the rally may make sense at some point... make it more obtainable for Easterners, Northerners, etc. Like the idea of combining with September Expo in Asheville. Walt
Greetings Overland Bound crew! We shot up to West Chester, PA for Main Line Overland's Spring Open House with a stop at Cabela's on the way (which was crazy due to wind/cold). Here are a few pics:
Quite a few unique/fun rigs were there
These are alway so cool to see... for $99K it could...
Just found out today that OME makes leafs that can be adjusted? That may help some with a decision to upgrade. I'll expand on this topic with a short trip update soon. Cheers, Walt
Welcome... you're right the trails down there are really sandy. I lived there for nearly 7 years and we used to take the enduros out to the power lines and trails north of Crestview. It was a blast finding gravel pits to play in! Cheers, Walt
Folks, I posted this in the Meetups Forum. That was before I discovered the regional threats here. Anyway, I'd asked if any Overland Bound members here on the Atlantic side happen to be hitting MLO's open house this Saturday? They're located in West Chester PA. Think they'll have some cool...
Great to find this article as I've been thinking about how to proceed with onboard air capability. We currently just have a budget Craftsman 12v for now but it's really just for emergencies. I like the idea of a small compressor with 1-3 gal air tank that can be switched on 20-minutes or so...
Yeah! I spoke to Matt from MLO and it's just an open house. Probably just to get their gear out for folks to drool over. We'll be making a pit-stop at Cabela's on the way but we'll probably get there around lunchtime.
This link should get you the basics of the event...
Looks like Milepost is a desirable item for planning AK trip. My wife got me this edition for Valentines as she knows I've been planning for a few months... There will likely be a few more editions before we make it though!
Best of luck, Walt
Sweet Runner... Had I gone down that road, I'd have blacked mine out similar to yours. But, the Tacoma was more ideal for my situation and black didn't work out. Anyway, nice rig and welcome! Cheers, Walt
Any Overland Bound members here on the Atlantic side happen to be hitting MLO's open house this Saturday? They're located in West Chester PA. Think they'll have some cool rigs and trailers on display. We'll be heading up from Annapolis, MD... hitting Cabellas and the open house prior to...
It's maybe laughable but I have a Superwinch 3500 (it's really for a car hauler I had 20 years ago). So I've kept it working all these years and yes, until I get an appropriately sized and functional winch installed on my Tacoma, it'll do... just need 3 snatch blocks!
BTW, I also appreciate...
Thanks for sharing. I saw some familiar terrain in your pics as we were there last month. It was really cool with the trees coated with ice but was so foggy at elevation you couldn't see much of anything. Also broke the first thing (stepper) on my Tacoma. Great terrain to explore and look...
Got it, thanks for the info. I've had similar experiences with mine... although my rig is infintile for overlanding as it's still completely stock. I've been struggling with the decision to go with the bed rack or a shell/ rack. Then it's issue of weight as you mentioned. Would be...
Most appealing to me about Hema is the cloud and what that might mean for others to benefit from... hope that's not a bad thing. Reality is that with so many things to fund, mapping software cannot be one of them, for now. I'm stuck with the free stuff and it's not so bad.
