Well, it has been a while since I updated this or really did much to the truck. However I have been doing some travel recently for work and it required me to drive, not fly due to Covid-19. This meant I got paid for mileage and per-deim. The first 2 trips went great, but on the 3rd I blew up the...
I love the idea of these and would get one, but they are huge for my needs. 12in is a really large pot for 2 people that don't eat that much. If they made a 10in I think I would be more interested. Shipping is an issue also.
What have you all found on the quality/longevity of these cheap boards? So far in looking at the Amazon reviews it seems that there is mixed reviews on the ones that have been used.
I see that many that are used in the snow crack and break. This seems very common. The ones that have been used...
While Washington has a few less lake than Minnesota, there are still so many that it would be hard to give you any advice without knowing a region, how remote, distance to drive, etc.
There are a few lakes I have tried to get to and spent 3 years never getting there as they are so hard to find...
So far it is working really good. I have found that I need to put more Ice in it that I have. It is quite big and I did not take enough stuff to fill it, so there was a lot of air space.
One of the days I arrived at the job site and the car was parked in direct sun. The outside of the cooler...
I have been on a CPAP for a few years now. I go on long trips on my motorcycle every year with my buddy. I got an extra motorcycle battery and wired it into the bike and powered the CPAP off of that. Worked just fine.
Now with the Suburban I have a dual battery system in it and power it off of...
Check with any company that sell extruded aluminum. 8020 is one company, but there are many. They all use T nuts and tons of other stuff that works in the slots.
As everyone knows keeping food cold in very important on the trail. As much as I would like a fridge, there are a lot of reasons right now that I am not getting one. However I do need a good quality cooler.
I am sure everyone is familiar with the Yeti and RTIC brand coolers. I am too and also...
There is a early 70's Type 2 Bus Westfalia sitting in a barn very near me. It is white and looks to be in good shape, but I bet it has not moved in 10+ years. I keep thinking I need to stop in and see if they want to sell it, but I don't currently have any money to offer them so I haven't.
I...
No, they used the stock engine. As you would expect they were slow. These were all custom built by the owners using plans from R.Q. Riley. R.Q Riley had a bunch of plans for different car/trikes/RV's most of them designed in the 70's. Nearly all are still available on their web page.
Back in...
It all really depends on what you are after. The cheapest option is the "Luggable Loo" listed above, it works fine, but does not fold down. There are a lot of fold-able potties, but they are expensive and don't do anything the bucket can't except fold up. The bonus of the Luggable loo/Homer...
There are several of us that will be doing the WABDR in June (We Hope) and so we should be able to give a full report on the conditions of the trail. I am slightly concerned that due to us going early and the stay at home thing, there may not have been a lot of traffic on the trail when we start...
So, I would love to do this, but need to know if my truck would qualify. It is a Square Body Suburban. They made them from 1973 to 1991, other than some very minor changes to the drive-train components and a front sheet-metal update in 1981, they are all basically the same. Mine is a 1990...
If you or your girlfriend/wife are into the movies, Forks might be OK, but there is really not much there other than a few tourist type gift shops and everything is named Twilight something or other. Never saw the movie and I felt it was not worth going. I was passing through so I didn't care...
I think you could spend a month in both Oregon and Washington and still not see everything.
You may not know this, but Washington has the only rain forest in the USA, one of the highest mountains and is 2/3rds desert. Add to that the Coast, Puget Sound, too many State and National Forests to...
Great idea. I think this will work well on any lower vehicle like your Subaru. My Suburban, and many other trucks are too high up. If I did this I would have to use a step ladder to see in it. I had to cut my platform out at the back to lower mine to be able to see in it.
I can see this working...
