I love the truck. I think a budget build is great. They are so freeing and allow you to really build something cool. It is so nice to build something that you don't worry about modifying, drilling a hole, or getting a scratch. I have a 90 Suburban and have done a lot to it and still have well...
Just let me know what you want and maybe a picture of where it goes and I will draw it up.
That's not really what my intent is, however if you have a common size you want me to do, that is fine. My intent is to offer a way for people to get them for un-common vehicles or sizes.
But, like I...
I had just got back out into the field and was loosing weight, then the lock down and I am afraid I have gained back all that I lost.
Part of the issue is that my wife is the best cook in the world and so I have a hard time not eating everything she makes. She has been making home made bread...
I am not in AZ, but I do have 15 acres in central Washington if he or anyone else wants to come up here. Plenty of room for anyone needing a safe place to stay.
I know for many of you, you can get Molle panels for your truck/SUV/Jeep fairly easy. If you own one of the very popular rigs, there are aftermarket companies that cater to you. However for those of us that drive something unique or different there are no ready made parts for us.
I wanted to...
I love this truck. I am a huge fan of the older, simpler trucks. (I have a 1965 C10 and a 1990 Suburban) There is a lot of satisfaction in keeping an older rig on the road and knowing that you can fix almost anything that will go wrong. With it being a 1 ton type chassis you should have no...
A few years ago a friend of mine and I set out from Tacoma WA to travel down the Oregon coast to Northern California. However it was February and the weather was terrible. Oh, and we were riding KLR650s. So, all of our gear was strapped to the outside of our bikes. Lucky for me, having been down...
The one thing in his video that I had to disagree with was the cost of the "porta-potty" option. If you look at Amazon there are a lot of options for anywhere from $60-$130. No where close to the $800 they were quoting. To me the Porta-Potty is a great option as long as you are going to be...
RIght at this point, while I would love to do both Oregon and Washington, I really need to stick to the original plan of the Washington during the week of the NWOR. If you want to do Oregon the week before, that would be great.
I work for a company that makes Ultra High Pressure Waterjet cutting systems. I fly into customer locations all around the world to install, maintain and train on the use of these waterjet systems.
Do we have a count on the number of people wanting to do the whole BDR? I think it would be good to get a solid count. Also, with this Covid-19 thing and the closing of "Developed" camp sites in the National Forests, we may need to think about how we can stick to the guidelines and still make...
This is the most important area of the order for me. It is saying all developed campgrounds and recreation ares are off limits, but any dispersed areas are still OK. As such and to keep within the social distancing rules, we may need to break up into smaller groups and limit total number of...
We had a saying in the Air Force, I was a aircraft mechanic, and it was to "lean forward in the seats". Meaning that no matter what was happening to the plane, we were anticipating take-off.
I feel the same way about the BDR, I am pressing on, full steam ahead until that day of departure still...
After thinking about it for a week and a half, I decided that I will return the M1A1 and I ordered the M240. It worked out OK, I paid $109 for the M1A1 and now, probably due to current events, the M240 is only $129, so for the extra $20 I get the better pump. Seemed like a no-brainer.
This really sucks, I hope they don't shut down the dispersed camping and FS roads. We are planning on doing the WABCDR this June and I don't mind staying away from campgrounds, we want to disperse camp anyway.
I really love this van you got. It looks like a great platform for a really cool build. Being a 4WD it should get you anywhere you want to go as long as its not rock crawling.
Does it have a 2 speed transfer case or just single speed? If it is a single speed, you might think about some kind of...
I am also a huge fan of the Suburban, I have a 1990 2500 4x4 and it is great. I have so much room for stuff, I don't even know what to use all the empty space for. And with 3/4 ton suspension, weight is never an issue.
Suburbans are a reasonably priced (Used) Overlander that is very capable and...
