    4Runner Owners Registry

Looks like a 180, lifted up by contact with the tailgate. My OVS 180 did that before I moved it to the drivers side.

Jackery Solar Generator 1500: The Best Solution for Powering Camp?

I'd like to see a portable 150AH system without the inverter and with 12V Anderson input and output. This would enable reliable connections to the vehicle and fridge. Square it off with good tie-downs and a non-skid rubber bottom. Design a quick-release mounting bracket like the Milwaukee...

    MaxTrax Recovery Boards

We carry four, dark green, on the roof. They blend in and don't attract much attention.

    Storing Portable Power Station

Discharge/charge it to 40% and store in a cool place. If you store it at 100%, you could lose 20% of full capacity in a year. If stored at 40%, the capacity loss is only 4%. Also, keep it dry, so an airtight container with a desiccant may help.

    Overland Expo East 2021

My wife and I also had a great time. The 7P classes were the highlight, and we'll come back for their recovery series next time around. Many of the displays were pushing higher end gear, campers, and trailers. In camp, most of the questions we got were at the basic end - what's a good tool...

Oh U.S. Automakers, Where Art Thou?

When a government runs such a deficit that private savings can't make up the difference, the result is an overall economy that imports more than it produces, and property (real estate, production, intellectual capital) bought by foreign investors. Americans like getting a bigger government than...

    Minimum clearance

17 gallons per hour at idle. 56 gallons per hour at speed. Overall operating costs (maintenance, etc.) over $100 a mile. If they gave you one, could you afford to operate it?

Easy-setup tent and cot recommendations please?

Maybe one of the smaller Oztents, or their one-person stretcher tent with an integrated cot?

    Overland Expo East 2021

First time at an Expo - we got the Experience package so there is that option as well. How much room is available to make camp? Is there room to push out the awning and set up a T4 Plus? Or will it be vehicle width and a standard T4?

    Tent Security for wondering child

Gazelle uses double zippers for the screen as well as the outer fabric. You could ziptie or use a suitcase lock.

    Choosing a pickup

If I was starting from scratch I'd build on an F250 Tremor.

    Bronco vs 4Runner

The Broncos will take a couple years to work through their growing pains. For now, I'd take a 4Runner. In a couple years, Broncos will be on track, and Toyota will have shifted 4Runner production to Mexico. At that point, I'd pick the Bronco.

    Skottle First Cook - Issue

If you use soap to clean the surface of a highly polished cast iron or carbon steel skillet, and let the finish build a molecule at a time, the Skottle is great and will work just the same. If you use pebble-finished Lodge stuff, avoid soap, and build up a layer of hardened crud to smooth out...

    Portable power

Run a 12V splitter and put a small load on the other side? Maybe a single LED?

    Minimum clearance

That does read oddly - perhaps those are lift amounts.

Nice Rack but What a Pain

I read the thread title and thought it was a reference to a recent dating experience.

    Minimum clearance

Why would someone in Columbia use 11 inches rather than 285 mm to describe clearance?
