Sounded to me to be more in the "pain in the ass" category than "hard work" area. I was pressed for time with this being my daily driver so I bit the bullet and paid. I think if a person had time to do it right it wouldn't be too bad.
I think that's the third or fourth area I've ever heard of named chain lakes in this province. lol
The one you're talking is probably more official being a provincial park and all. But there's one at:
52°34'18.10"N, 113°24'49.83"W (North of Clive, AB) Don't swim there. Terrible leeches...
It was a lovely time and beautiful country. The roads are surely doable in a 2wd. But there's a few spots where creeks are on roads, and long muddy hills that would be less fun. The Pipelines, cut lines and decommissioned stuff you'd be hard pressed to do it without 4wd. But with a liberal...
In the spirit of "Pics or it didn't happen"!
Toured around Swan Hills a bit this past weekend. Got snowed on, Day one was a mud day, and day 2 was a snow day.
Nice view up in the hills. A bit socked in and chilly.
So I went up the Grizzly Highway (33) to The Grizzly capital of Alberta (Swan...
Yeah, looks like I'll be flying solo on this one. Which is fine. I do like having a mobile winch point, but I'll survive. lol
My brother has lived in Swan Hills for 30 some odd years and he's going to take me out where the grizzly's hang out in the spring... That oughta be interesting. :-)
Anyone interested in exploring the area west of Swan Hills April 22/23, 2017? I'll be heading out that way for a tour & thought I'd see f anyone cared to join. There will be snow, mud, and water crossings, but nothing too crazy.
Let me know if you're interested.
Sub'd! A lot of these points and questions have me wondering too.
My thoughts at this point are to go with an icon full suspension stage 2 2" lift etc and see how it feels.
I should also point out that I technically don't own a 5th gen 4Runner... yet. [emoji851]
Congratulations! Sounds like the start of an epic road trip... Or the beginning of a horror movie. [emoji57]
If you see this behind you... don't stop. [emoji851]
Drive safe!
Also cobbled up a little water system. For lack of a better term.
2 blue scepter water cans, some fittings and a hose. Voila. Gravity feed water for a family of 5. Should last a week or so depending on use.
Changed out the bfgoodrich ko2 for a slightly larger toyo open country at2 extreme. 285/75r17.
34" tire and that's about as big as I can get without some creative trimming. I get just a hair of touch against the mud flaps on a hard turn, but not enough to worry about.
Everyone else seems to...
I'm hitting it the following weekend with a brother of mine. If I see any pieces of a jeep I'll bring them out for you. [emoji51]
