    Adventure / Overland motorcycles

I hate to turn down a good bike thread! Here’s my BMW R1200GSA in a couple poses. Damn thing likes to lay in the mud for some reason.

    Topper/rolling tonneau cover/rack system

I use www.diamondbackcovers.com works well for me. I put bikes on it, or my Rtt and all the gear inside.

    Moab 2018

Anyone interested in a Moab UT trip? Oct 21 to Oct 29th or so. Might take a dirt bike for some trails or stick to the truck. The jury is still out on that. I’ll camp my way down, 3-4 Day’s around Moab then back home.

Buying a Toyota Tundra! Please help!

I’ve owned both a crewmax and double cab. When my kids were smaller a double cab worked fine. Not a lot of leg room but it works. More recently I have a crewmax. I frequently joke that the back seat has enough leg room to have a dance back there. But seriously it has a ton of room in the...

    1972 Jeep Wagoneer 'Meredith'

Love it. I found one myself (albeit in worse shape). All I need is a drive shaft... so far. [emoji846]

    You're stuck. What now?

Don’t wear rubber boots. Hiking 20 miles to find some help in rubber boots sucks. But let’s be serious for a moment. If you’re in a spot you can’t get out of, chances are that you’re on a road or trail, and chances are someone will come along to lend a helping hand eventually. My advice...

Favorite truck bed setups with no topper?

I think you’re asking how do I open the RTT? The tent opens to the passenger side of the truck.

Help us spend $2200 on rig upgrades!

Sounds like a good plan is coming together! I like the winch, sliders & skid plates. I'd prioritize them in about that order. Tires would be job 1. Any kind of rough country is going to eat up a street tire. Personally I think the drawer system is cool & I'd love one... But I have a...

Event Cancelled - Edmonton Alberta Meetup in Elk Island Park August 27-30 - 08/27/2018

Sounds like an awesome time, but I'm working that week. I could pop out after work one day though.

    Forestry Trunk Road, Alberta

You’ll find some good spots along the road to limestone. There are plenty of clearings along there that are good camping. There’s Also a good spot 2/3 of the way up limestone. You can certainly camp at the top if you want but if a bit of a wind gets going there won’t be any protection.

    Central AB-East: Off Grid Camping/Kayaking

It's more of a dispersed camping/boat launch/parking while fishing area. I know people that have set up a holiday trailer there and stay for a week at a time, so it's safe to camp there.

    Central AB-East: Off Grid Camping/Kayaking

Go east on highway 12 to range road 244 North on rge rd 244 to township road 410 East on twp rd 410 for a mile to the rd 243 North on rge rd 243 til you hit Magee Lake. Don’t tell anyone I told you. It’s a secret spot. [emoji6] When you leave take the shortcut between the lakes on rge rd...

X2. I’ve never had a porcupine problem... Unless you run over one. Then it’s like running over a small rock that sticks quills into everything. That can be a problem.

2005 Jeep LJ - The Heep

I’ll definitely make some time for the museum next time I’m down. It sounds pretty interesting.

What do you do for water?

I slide these water containers to the front of the box, and run a hose to the back of the truck with a little valve on it. To fill the containers I just connect a garden hose to the end I normally draw from.

Tillamook, OR Jeep Jamboree 2018. What is a Jeep jamboree you ask? Near as I can tell, a Jeep jamboree is where a bunch of Jeep inclined people climb into their Jeeps then drive their Jeeps for insane distances in order to meet other Jeep people for the express purpose of going jeeping...

    2013 Toyota Tundra - Starting June-10-2018

Yup, that's right. An OME 2.5" lift. I can see the issue with the height. To get my cover on just right I just stand on the wheel. I have a bit of offset int he wheels i have that makes that easier. You could always use something like this:

Looking sharp! As for leaf springs mentioned above I put an OME lift with the Dakar leafs on mine and it improved the sag significantly when loaded.

    Post your rig

And the Jeep! I forgot my Jeep above. Use it for a little more off-roady stuff. ‘05 jeep LJ. Lifted, front and rear air lockers, tummy tuck, etc.

Some of their stuff is good. Some is overpriced, but I’ve been pretty pleased with what I’ve bought. Those photos are both Alberta. [emoji846]
