Where are you looking to camp? In Banff National Park, Jasper National Park, or a provincial park? If you're on crown land you can always bush camp, or dispersed camp as some call it.

It is pretty cool. The mine is the French mine above Hedley, BC (canada) and the railroad is the kettle valley railway in the same area. The railroad you can drive for days all around the area. Lots of trails to explore.

You betcha. I love the snow. The biggest issue winter camping in a tent is the moisture in the tent.

There are a few outings on occasion. Some just met for coffee the other day, but I'm sure another will come along.

Go to “marks work warehouse” and go on a shopping spree. They’ll set you up with rugged warm clothes. And think in layers. As you warm up with physical activity you can shed a layer.
