I wonder how difficult it would be to swap in the front differential and axles from a k2500?
My 2001 k2500 8.1L 4L80E has well over 200,000 miles and the only real problems I have had is the shift motor on the NP246. Living in the Rockies has put it in several situations that should have snapped...
After driving trucks for 30+ years on the job, I learned to love them. But now I am retired and have 3 big dogs, a chevy suburban suits my needs best. If I need truck work capabilities I put my utility trailer on back.
How different can you be than overlanding a k2500 suburban ?? Lol. I have a 2001 k2500 8.1L 4l80e and the factory air ride suspension. She is creeping up on 300,000 miles and wouldn't hesitate a cross country drive.
Wow, another north idahoan and Suburban pilot to boot!
We are newish to the area and have only been down a few forest roads from CDA to st.Maries.
We have a 2001 k2500 Suburban with 8.1 4l80e and air ride suspension.

I saw one a while back where the builder did a backwards pintle. The eye was on the truck and the clasp part was on the trailer, hard to steal that one.
Hello from north idaho. I've been off roading most of my life. I am retired now so I have time to do it full time.
My rig for now is a 2001 k2500 suburban 8.1L and 4l80e with G80 locker.
Always happy to help if someone is in the area.
