With the 5th gen Outback theres no transmission option. In the states it’s CVT for the 4 cylinder and a different CVT for the 6. I like the Outback for its size and options. The lower roofline of a car makes it just a little easier to put things on the roof as opposed to the more crossover...
I’m unaware of any coupon codes at the moment. Here’s something to think about. Last year both Expedition Portal and BROG released codes but it wasn’t until late August which is pretty consistent with previous years. If you wait for a code you could potentially miss out on camping on site and...
Welcome to Overland Bound @DBAR!
Gaia is very easy to import routes into, make your own, and also share. The best way to learn it is to simply play around with it. Heres a thread with actual routes in Bald Eagle State Forest you can download...
Received a potential solution for you @Booboodmb...
Apparently in a recent app update they separated routes and tracks in the map overlay. The solution is to tap the Layers icon, tap Map Overlay, and toggle on routes. I don't know why they did this change but once you do that a simple restart...
I‘m having the same issue and can’t make sense of it. Originally I thought it was just my oldest routes which were made before the app changed years ago but then I noticed some of my newest routes have disappeared as well. Oddly enough the waypoints are still visible.
With this latest cold snap it’s going to be getting to the point where I caution people driving the more challenging trails in BESF. There’s a lot of water holes and every time someone drives through them and breaks up the ice it freezes thicker and more jagged. Time after time. That jagged ice...
No problem! I've been wanting to drive the whole thing since they released it but my experience with it has been limited to Pennsylvania. I have other routes I like in Virginia/West Virginia and plenty of additional routes on the hit list.
Just a reminder but if anyone is planning anything in a Pennsylvania State Forest or Park you will have to keep the number of people under 10 or you will need a Letter of Authorization from DCNR for the group. If you proceed without one and they stop you there will be fines.
Sorry to hear that. Do you use anything for off road navigation? I primarily use Gaia but those files can be opened up in pretty much any navigation app.
Can’t help with the B&B part but heres my thread with downloadable routes.

I’m not advocating no extra fuel. I wouldn’t do that because I carry extra fuel when I go out. I’m suggesting LESS extra fuel in an effort to save weight. Over 40lbs not counting how it’s properly secured. Add in the weight of the sliders and it’s probably over 100lbs... and that’s only between...
You‘re traveling with a 2 trucks and a Jeep though.. Last time I led a group I got gas every other stop. Not because i had to, because why not haha. I could have done it every 3rd stop because of a Jeep and an FJ so regardless of time you should still be doing better than the people you’re with...
The short answer is no, why would you?! Another answer is why even bother with a snorkel?
Nothing about the 5th gen lends itself to a traditional snorkel installation. Aside from that the only ones I’ve seen are complete hack jobs that can’t be trusted to do the job.
I think something you...
