I'm pretty good keeping super busy with work as it is spring shutdown season. Moving the engine back will help with weight distribution, as I'm sure you're well aware of being an aircraft guy and all.
Man that thing is going to be nose heavy those BT motors are heavy last I looked i think a fully dressed 4BT was 700lbs, which is similar to the V8 in my truck. But I'm excited to see how it turns out
Yes they are ment to slide off objects but sometimes you have all of the vehicle weight on the skid, or youvey dropped onto it falling off another object or into a hole. They may have some forming to add rigidity but that only can only do so much, but it cant compensate for the material being...
Too thin material thickness just over 1/8" steel is not going to support a 7000lb truck very well neither is soft 1/4" 5052 aluminum. I know for my truck I plan on using 1/4" or 5/16" AR plate.
Problem with having allthe aftermarket extras is no one wants to pay extra for them. You might have better luck returning it to as stock as possible then selling the truck and parts separate as you will probably get more out of it that way.
