Not sure if you know this or not but the icons use digressive valving so they start very stiff and dont soften till you start working them, most people i know that have run the icon stuff has been unhappy with them for that reason alone. Just some food for though
hey just read your whole thread and i know your not going for a raptor clone but why not run a stock raptor suspension? front stock fox coilovers can be had reasonably priced pair those with some gieser bros springs set to mid perch will net a you a great ride while still maintaining offload...
these guys make lots of aluminum replacement panels and parts for fjs but be forewarned they aren't cheap but their stuff is super nice

have you seen the excursion build thats been featured a couple times on expedition portal? it seems to be a solid build to keep daily drivability up while adding storage and back country capability to a large family hauler
