I would be interested in a meet and greet. Which weekend are you talking? I have time next week Oct 3rd. General Butler is only an hour or so for me, but I would be interested.
I agree the K02’s are highly rated for performance and durability. If you looking at others , I have a set of Nitto’s that are also great.
They are also tough and not overly loud on the highway.
Well @Lil Bear you can always find beautiful fall colors throughout most of TN, WV, and KY. Some of the most beautiful views through the Smokey Mountains, especially in the fall. I am a huge fan of the entire area around Gatlinburg the first week or so of Nov, so I would suggest the week after...
I completely agree with this assessment. There are several kits that help in this area and I have my eye on a Terraflex S/T kit. It addresses all of these things as well.
The biggest challenge you will face is defining what you are looking for in the lift kit, and why you really need it...
I would tend to agree for the most part. Some very smart engineers figured out all that stuff, and my second guessing them is bound to develop problems of my own making. I do, however, plan on a small lift just to offset the added bumpers and skid weights. That being said, I do plan on spending...
I do agree that lift is less important than overall performance. From the sounds of your payload you might need to lift just to get back to the factory clearance. Springs and shocks would be a good investment from the sounds of what you are doing with your rig.
I would also agree that you...
First, nice ride!
I run 33" Nitto Trail Grapplers on my JLU because they fit my factory 7.5" wheels, and fit without requiring a lift. I may upgrade later to 35's and lift it some; but being on a budget this just worked out great. They were only slightly wider than my stock AT tires, and are...
Ducking jeeps has turned into quite a regular thing... Although I don't personally see the attraction, nor have I ever been "ducked". Maybe i just don't spend enough time around where people are?
Personally I drive a 2019, but a good friend I wheel with often has a 2015 and he loves it! Not had any major mechanical issues (although he does regular maintenance, and fixes things when they break). I would say that any rig can be good or bad, but well maintained ones last a while.
Welcome! I lived in FL for years and now live in KY. How ironic...
I also am mostly a vacation and weekend overlander, so your in good company. Currently driving a mostly stock 2019 JLU, so I know how fun that is too!
My point exactly! Looks like (from the article) folks are moving to more affordable places. I do wonder about the tendency of Americans to "house hop". In the article they make reference to questions about moving again soon... Make a plan and stick to it. Then vacation like crazy in all the...
