Asleep In a Jeep.... mods and diy projects

Easy video and window net. Thanks for advice. Side question, what do you do with you electronics and toiletries in the 15 degree weather? I have had my cell phone screen freeze in my Jeep sleeping in less than 10 degree weather and my contact lens and solution completely froze solid as well...

Towing a trailer in CA sucks

It's not because of the Jeep, it's CA law. You can't go above 55mph. However, I often pace Tractor Trailers, 5th wheels and other trailers going 70+ just to try to stay up with pace. If you even go 60+ with a trailer juat to pass someone, that's not fast enough for the 1st/2nd lanes....and you...

Towing a trailer in CA sucks

I just got back from the CA Central Coast to the Central Valley and will be towing my overland trailer this weekend. I was just thinking the same thing on the way back home....I am going to get run-over going up Highway 99 going 55!! Not fun!

    New Member "IAMJAKE"

^^^^^^ Well that's awesome to see a celebrity spend time appreciating their fans! Jake is a stand-up guy! I've been watching his Youtube Channel for about 6-8mo now and am always in awe of his camera and editing skills. Love his show. I'm surprised Discovery Channel, or an outdoor channel...

The Eastern Sierras is such an awesome place. The history, scenery, resources and night skies make for one heck of an overland trip. Thank you for sharing!

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

As long as it's a known problem that will be addressed (and fixed?) I am good for tabling. I have been happy with Gaia so far. Well, another issue too actually, I keep my phone on a horizontal phone holder on the dash of my Jeep JK. I found the direction arrow jumps and spins a LOT at times...

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

It was the scroll over feature that disappeared. Usually, you see the icons and can click on them for more data on that POI/Location. When I was offline, those didn't appear...I would think since I downloaded the map and the POI associated to that area, then it would also download those POI...

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

When I download a Map for Offline use and click all the POI/Way-points...upon going into airplane mode or into an area with not service, a majority of the POI (that were present when service were available) just disappear. This was unfortunate in Death Valley as there were some POI, that I...

Around camp if I am near the Jeep, or with an extension cord is LED Christmas Lights plugged into my DC Converter. Worked great last weekend in Death Valley.

1000 miles overall, 250 in Death Valley alone! What an overland adventure! So many sights and memories. I have posted a fairly raw GoPro video of a majority of the driving and sights: Also, here are some shots from the trip. I will definitely be going back!

    Overland Trash Systems

Soooo.....I bought a Trasharoo and although I was overall happy with it, a buckle broke the first time I installed it! Really stunk as I wasn't sure if it would stay on the whole trip. I will be contacting Trasharoo asap. M

    Overland Trash Systems

...and I just bought a Trasharoo from 4WP.... the cheap systems I was thinking of seemed....cheap! And the last thing I would want is to yardsale all my trash in a National Park in Death Valley!

    Overland Trash Systems

Thanks @RockRanger. I know 4WP in Fresno has them, but they take a few days to order. I am going to be in LA tomorrow and may stop at a larger 4WP there to see if they have any Trasharoo in stock (I want OD Green). If they don't I'll either take your onion sack, or stop at Wally World and get a...

    Overland Trash Systems

Hey All, I know of Trasharoo's, potato/onion sacks, trash bags etc for on trail trash holding, but want to know what you use for your rigs? I like the Trasharoo, but am looking for a cheaper system that I can hang from my tire carrier. Any suggestions, or what do you use and where did you get...

Cerro Gordo Spring Break April 9th-12th

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. The trip is still on to leave Sunday April 9th from Fresno area and travel to Lone Pine, then to Reward mine for a bit, then camp near Alabama Hills. We have a group of 4-5 rigs going at this point including @RockRanger . Should be a fun trip. I'm...
