I use two USMC Metal Jerry Cans. One is 5gal, other is 2.5gal. The 5gal has a date stamp on bottom that is the same month/year I was born....1978! Still holds gas, doesn't have a CARB spout and fits perfectly onto my ORFAB Tire Carrier. The 2.5gal doesn't fit on my tire carrier, but fits well on...
I want to add data on all the trails I have been on in Central CA, Eastern CA/Death Valley and Northern CA. I started adding some content, such as Bald Mountain (in my back yard), but I can't go back and edit the content. Is there a way to do so after I have published it? Thanks Admins or @Michael
Can anyone tell me why my location is so off though? I put my location of fresno, ca, and it has my location as Far Northern CA? I'm not sure if I have something set incorrectly or I've put my location in correctly. Sorry, playing the newb card. :)
Sorry @Michael , I was teaching my class! HAHA! I'm back.
Here is a screenshot of where I clicked off the homepage to get the error where it says "Member Map". I did clear my cache and logged back in. it is still showing the error. M
88K oil change, new windshield wiper blades for winter and new Rancho shocks all around in addition to steering stabilizer. I didn't realize how bad my Rubi Red Shocks had gotten. Rides really nice now.
If I go to top menu bar: Forums -> Member Map, I get an error page.
Also, when I look myself up as a member, I live in Fresno, CA, but it shows me in Red Bluff, Northern California, faaaarrr from where I actually am!?
HAHA! That second picture looks like one of those Video Games where you can add armor to your vehicle to go smash other players!
Good build! Have fun with it! Love the color!
Good points of view and discussions on RTT and ground tents. Lots of insights from both sides. I'm a backpacker/mountaineer, so using the ground tent and a foam pad is 2nd nature to me. I've always wondered what life was like in an RTT, and the ability to move then vehicle without breaking camp...
I camped at Fence Creek CG ($8/night) and was impressed with it's remoteness and access to offroad trails and the Middle Stanislaus. We also camped at Niagara Falls CG (VERY Dusty!) and the Fraser Flat CG (Had a nice creek running by it, but was very busy and not remote enough for my taste.)...
I know quite a particular camp spot near Bald Mountain that could accomodate 60+ participants. It has access to a store within 5min, river access within a half mile and access to many of the trail starts, especially Bald Mt. @Michael or @Corrie if you want me to give you GPS Coordinates and do...
@Michael and @Corrie , I live in Fresno County and am part of the Search and Rescue Mountaineers. I would like to join this year and will look for the information on the event. If I can help otherwise too, please let me know!

My kids and I love Grocery Store Fried Chicken meals! We get the 8 or 12 piece (dark preferred) and eat it cold on the trail along with the potato salad, and other snacks! Has never been a bad meal, easy, no heating and filling! And darn if it doesn't taste better in the mountains with dirty hands!
@vegabondexpedition ha! Big difference in temp! I sleep in shorts at 59° F!! Haha
I have thought of using a small ice chest and throwing in some hand warmers with my electronics and toiletries...but in California, I wont see those temps for 6mo+ and try it then.
Back to original point....
Stay safe out there when towing. Plan ahead to drive for a longer timeframe and keep a safe distance from those in front of you. Also, have some compassion for those of us who ARE towing and let us over when we signal and don't ride our asses!
