Today drove into Downieville,CA. Grabbed a shuttle up to 7000' and bombed down approximately 4000' in 15 miles on my mountain bike. Epic.
Yesterday, I wheeled myself and a friend up to the Sierra Butte fire tower. Unfortunately We got a good look of the Gold Complex Fire that started earlier in the day.

For any GFC owners, double check the bolts on the mounting brackets. I bought mine used in late May and mounted myself. Been on one trip, maybe a few hours away. Checked brackets this weekend, one very loose, the other three wrench loose. The bolts going into the OEM bed rail were all wrench loose. I may consider using Loctite on them before I take it on another trip.

Update: Finally got them installed....after a 4 hour wait. :pensive: Anyway, I replaced the MT's with AT's because they are quieter, ride smoother, last longer and cost less. Besides, at least 95% of my tire wear is on road anyway, so why waste the tread just because it looks more off-roady?

Came real close to being t-boned when some lady totally ran a red light. Made a nice change from the homeless people just jumping out in front of me, though.
