Hi all!

Im Edwin and im new to this community/culture.

Location: Whittier, CA
Current Vehicle: 2007 Nissan Xterra S
Previous Vehicle: 1998 Nissan 180sx
Overland Experience: Noob
Why Overlanding?: I've always been an outdoor type of person. I love fishing hiking and pretty much any activity that deals with being out of the house. Due to me being the only one within my family/friends that likes the outdoors, usually don't have the motivation to go out there and explore. Now that I'm getting involved with a few forums and now this overland forum, I have no excuse on not going out.

Hey folks! my name is Sean.

Location; Born, raised and still reside in Minneapolis.

Rig; 2011 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X. 2.5" lift, one size up on tires.

Experience; I've been camping, hunting and fishing since I was a kid, but just now getting in to a more overland travel based thing as state parks and campgrounds are of no challenge.

Hi all!

I just joined last night after following the group on Instagram for a little while.

I'm in the south Puget Sound area of Washington, wedged between the Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges. (There are worse places in the world to be!)

I have a '13 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (that's her in my avatar.)

I've burned a few miles overlanding without realizing there was a name for it; I've explored southern New Mexico, Florida, and the Pacific Northwest thanks to my capable JK, and I'm looking forward to learning a lot more from this group and contributing where I can. I'm glad to be here!

Hi all, just a short (at least, I try to keep it short) introduction of who I am.

So I’m Ron, I am 32 year old and from the Netherlands and I’ve been following Overland Bound on both YouTube and Facebook for a long while now. Interest in overlanding kind of started by watching all different kind of YouTube channels (like OB of course and expedition overland, Ronny Dahl and so on.). That all happened a few years ago while I was stuck in a not really functioning marriage and money totally wasn’t available to buy a rig. Here in the Netherlands a rig costs a load of cash and high taxes aren’t really helping as well. Anyway, early 2015 my ex and me finally gave up and I hoped I would be able to begin anew by kicking off the almost forgotten dream. Though in the end the divorce cost me even more money due to laws and stuff that have me paying her until somewhere next year.

All that aside, I met a lovely new girlfriend and she recently moved in with me. Future is looking bright and by the end of next year my financial situation should be good enough for me to finally buy what I’ve been wanting. What is that I hear you ask? Well a Toyota Landcruiser (120 series) from around 2004 to 2008. I’ve driven them a few times over the years and I just love the ride. And even though my lovely government is upping the taxes even more for diesel cars in a few years that won’t stop me. I’ve driven hybrids for 7 years now to compensate the environment I guess ;)

I’ve planned for a cruiser with a RTT and all that but talking about it with my girl (she likes camping, she used to do it tons when she was young) we kind of settled on getting a trailer tent in the long run so we could camp in style and still go places without hassle with the rig.

All in all, getting the cruiser and starting to collect some things and finally buying the trailer tent will take a few years. But even before we get the trailer tent I’ll be taking the cruiser out for a load of trips, or at least I hope so. Registered here to read up on other experiences and when I finally do get the rig I’ll hope to be a proud member of OB.

Oh and the avatar, it is kind of inspired by the OB logo of course. Though it took hours with my crap Photoshop skills to make it xD

/Ron

Hello From Prince George, BC, Canada.

This is Rescue, a 2016 JKUR. I got it in March, did a quick build up, and spent 3 weeks travelling the US. My first trail with this jeep was JP Magazine's Dirt N Drive, then a full week in Moab for the Easter Jeep Safari. Followed by a few other areas of interest.
Then the last 6 months of valley bottoms and mountain tops.
I have been looking at RTT's and plan to acquire one in the spring of next year. I really like the Ursa Minor J30, but the cost... right?
I am still planning my next BIG adventure. Maybe North to Alaska, or back south to black bear pass. 07 July two sisters mt summit.jpeg
