Outstanding! Welcome and thank you for your service. Had an old chem teacher back in high school, always spoke highly of seebees and the work you guys did.Hey there, Im from Oklahoma, and I drive a 2012 Tacoma DCSB. I built my truck from basically stock (it had wheels when i bought it), and built it for overlanding and camping precisely. I was a welder for 10 yrs, and have been a mechanic in the US Navy Seabees for 8 yrs. Camping, and outdoor fun is wat I enjoy most, but since I bought this truck my ability to explore has multiplied 10x. My build thread is HERE. IG @long_range_taco, THANKS!

I too have great things to say about the seabees, I was in an Engineer Battalion in the Army. We worked with the seabees quite a bit in AFG.Outstanding! Welcome and thank you for your service. Had an old chem teacher back in high school, always spoke highly of seebees and the work you guys did.

Welcome to the forum. Great to see another JKU with the venerable 3.8 that everyone loves to hate. Mines an 07', slow and steady build.Hey everyone, I'm from Eastern Oklahoma and I drive a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that I've slowly been building up since it was new. I would say I'm intermediate on the overland scale, I try to get day trips in at least twice a month. However, long Colorado trips are by far my favorite! I'm also getting really interested in overloading by dual sport motorcycles, although I'm not sure if that has a large following on this forum. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can from other overlanders!
Definitely! I just started following you on Instagram, awesome truck! I've been thinking of getting a Taco as a secondary vehicle in a few years and yours makes me want to buy one sooner rather than later!hey trey! nice to see a fellow okie, holler on IG if u wanna trail together sometime! @TreyJK
Thanks, I appreciate it!Killer rig, @TreyJK !!
I'll have to check your build out soon, and yes, the slow but steady 3.8! Its been good to me so far (95k miles), hopefully it'll last until 200k but when this engine/tranny dies, I'm just going to replace it with another set! I plan to keep this vehicle for life!Welcome to the forum. Great to see another JKU with the venerable 3.8 that everyone loves to hate. Mines an 07', slow and steady build.
Speaking of which. Is there a thread with everyone's instagrams? If they wish to share it, I mean.Definitely! I just started following you on Instagram, awesome truck! Now that you mention it, I swear there used to be. I can't find it now though. Maybe I'm nuts.Speaking of which. Is there a thread with everyone's instagrams? If they wish to share it, I mean.

Hey mate welcome :) that's an awesome setupHi everybody.
I'm from Denmark and I drive a 2003 Land Rover Discovery 2 Td5, been offroading for the last 15 years (on/off). Denmark is pretty flat so when offroading here it's usually in rented military training grounds = very expensive = not that often :-(
Talked The Wife in to buying a rooftent 2 years ago and we are getting more and more in to it, started out on a couple of weekendtrips and last summer we went to Britain for a hole 2 weeks roof top teenting only. So this summer we are talking about going to Sweden where wild camping is allowed....View attachment 1727View attachment 1728View attachment 1729

That's exactly how I feel. I'll just buy a crate motor. I'm at about 97.000 miles and hope to hit 200k as well. I don't drive it like a sports car or treat it like a 1 ton truck. I treat it like a Jeep and hope to keep it till I die. Although, a diesel would be cool someday. Thanks, I appreciate it!

I would definitely spring for a diesel if they were cheaper! I just can't justify the price and everything that goes into the conversion kit. I've always had dreams of dropping a SB350, carburetor, and gutting out all of the electronics, now that would be fun! That's exactly how I feel. I'll just buy a crate motor.
