Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Hasn't been too much to update on here lately, but that should be changing soon as parts are starting to roll in. For Christmas I got the 4.5" Clayton coils so after going back and forth on what to do I bought the IRO rear short arm set up. This wasn't what I really wanted, but was easier on...
I have no idea if they are available in Europe, but I've used a lot of Rtic Cooler products and they are as good as any Yeti or Pelican cooler for a lot less money.
If you guys are leaving around 3 I won't be able to make it. I'll definitely try to meet up with you guys for the Juniper trip. I have new 4.5" lift coils, Bilstein shocks and some other suspension stuff I need to get installed so it would be a good time to test them out.
Do you guys camp both friday and saturday when you do the clean up? We'll still be planting potatoes when this takes place so I wouldn't be able to get there until mid-day Saturday. Just curious if people will still be hanging out and going out on the trails.
Just to chime in on the sleeping inside a WJ... it's doable but a little on the tight side. I totally eliminated my rear seats and put drop in boxes in there place so it is flat from the rear hatch to the front seats. I thought about raising the platform up to the top of the wheel wells but...
Not sure how exactly you were attempting to do the debadge, but you don't want to put a heat gun to it and try to peel the badge off... a lot of force gets put onto the warm/soft paint. When I did my Ram I watched a couple videos on it first and it was really easy. Start off with some good...
I've always liked the look of the WK as well, almost bought one years ago but ended up with a Ram 1500. And recently when I was planning what to build a WK was on the list of what I was looking for, but got the WJ instead as I wanted a little more off road ability.
Good looking WK! I think the grand Cherokee (zj,wj,wk,wkII) make great off road/overland rigs but are often overlooked so it's nice to see another one getting built.
Still bummed I forgot about the Slab trip this weekend, hope you all have fun out there. Now that we're in phase 2 anyone interested in a meetup? March-ish maybe?
I'll try to make it on the call if I'm back in town.
Did you make it to Portland safe? I heard the roads were pretty crappy that direction the last few days, even less fun if you're pulling a trailer.
I can't speak for all of the BDR, but I did run the bethel ridge section 3 times last year between Memorial day and the end of July. First time snow and mud, second was a lot of mud and third was ruts and a little bit of mud. Once it dries up it is probably doable in the Sprinter but there are...
Welcome from the Tri Cities! I spent a lot of last summer out between HWY 12 and HWY 410 and was wanting to do more south of 12 towards Adams this coming summer so I'll keep you in mind when I head that way. If you know of any good winter places around your area I'd be interested. I was out 2...
@JL Lou , I saw one of these made out of a WK in Kennewick the other day! It was going by on a trailer and my first thought was what the hell is that El Camino looking thing, then I remember this picture you posted. I wish I would have been faster with my camera.
Welcome from the Tri Cities. We have/had a pretty active group over here before things started getting shut down, I'm sure once the state opens back up we'll get back to meet ups and group trail runs. Keep an eye on the Tri Cities Clubhouse thread in the "everything else NW" section for what...
I made it out camping last weekend to test out my new boxes as a sleeping platform and they were a nice addition, also the extra storage was great. I don't have any pictures of the insulation I made, but I took some of that foil air gap material used for RV window insulation and cut them out to...
Keep us posted on where all you plan to go, I'm sure once you get a basic route figured out people will be able to suggest some more specific areas along the way for camping and trails to hit. I spent a lot of time last summer around the area that would be section 2 of the WABDR and know of...
There was no snow on the highway but once you turned off on the FS road it was probably between 6"-12" for the 2-3 miles into the lake. It was tracked up and packed so getting in wasn't a problem you might push snow with the axle in a few places. There was an older stock Tahoe in there on...
