Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Thanks String and Vegas (also nice camp shot)
Figured I should update this. I purchased. I spent hours reading thru thread/ forums/ videos and checking a few out. Amazingly, I was pulling into the store there was a land cruiser guy with a Tepui. I was talking about me looking into CVT, he...
Tepui Autana Ruggedized, Haze Grey.
I was this close to pulling the trigger on the CVT summit series but A) I hate the green color (reminds me of REI brand tents that scream, look over here). B) they did not have in stock since they had a backlog of 35 of these from the group buy in the Mt...
AHHHHH you guys are killing me. Awesome photos guys. I just got confirmation my RTT is on its way. Should be here in a few days. Hopefully for the weekend so I can put it all together and get her mounted. since I'm home alone for the next week and change and need something to do.
Thanks for...
Standard U bolt to a piece of 1"x 1/8" steel stock cut about 12" then drill the ends for the maxtrax retetion device of your choice, Ive seen welded bolts with wing nuts, or their own pin set. Then Mount it at a height that it convenient, by drilling the holes for the ubolts and tighten
Looks good man, crafty use of angle stock and bar clamps, I think it came out well. I am also researching RTTs so be sure to post up your initial impressions. I created a thread about it in the general discussion area. Looking forward to this summer, thats for sure.
Okay, so I have been given permission to buy a RTT for the X. Not like I do not own enough dam tents as it is, but the girlfriend said she may go out more often if I give her some convenience things, and she knows I am not keen on a trailer yet. Maybe later but if I get the tent now, I can...
I use my ladder all the time. I bet you will enjoy it. Agree on the struts, but its cheaper to order thru mcmaster-carr. I went with the 200lb units as I have a 12lb medical kit on the hatch as well.
I actually just ordered a partner stove. 22" with the narrow grates just over the burners and a few other things. I really like how the knobs are also protected. No way can you break one off.
Thanks guys, it is coming along and almost done. Received the battery hold down in the mail. I however had to put it in all cat wampus since the washers were trying to worm their ways down the middle slot of the bandaid as the slot is larger. After seeing it like this, I think I like it more...
I also started venting my battery and it was only 10 months old. I said screw it and put in a odyssey 34R (reversed terminals) required to keep pos and neg where they are in the X and as Maktrak's photo also shows, the Xterra has a retarded fuse block/ bus bar that we need to keep or completely...
MMM, the trucks are nice, but the SUVs??? Not capable at all. A rouge with tracks? They got rid of the X for crying out loud. And the Sorrento is a dam joke. 4 cylinder AWD with attitude, its like offroading is the new Honda Ricer looking at these. Its not even 4WD. Hell even the winch fairlead...
Yes sir. I originally wanted both the pos and neg to use these terminals, they are referred to as "military style terminals". Google for your favorite source. But, as you are aware driving an X also, Nissan has the retarded fusible link bus bar deal that 90% of everything factory goes thru which...
Email him for the latest but the number he told me was way better than shrockworks. I have a shrock tirecarrier/ hilift/ CB that I will be offloading hopefully to one of the guys driving thru to GONEmoab this year. Ill hold whoevers factory rear bumper till they travel home after GONE as well...
Battery is in, and I mounted the maxtrax on the spare tire for now until I build my bracket for the Gobi rack.
Still waiting on the hold down to come in but should be here before the end of the week, just in time for the local X club pony express run.
NICE! did you order already? I ordered mine on Dec 28. Looking forward to it. There are many members here and TNX that run his since he is local to us.
Added some photos of the new wheels (Level 8 bully pro) to the original post and this post. Currently heading outside to install a Odyssey 34R battery and a few other little things. If I have time I will finish the raptor mod to the front grill.
JJSanchez! That is amazing, going to have to watch for a review on it. Great looking setup.
As for me, here are some day-ish time shots of the new Level 8 Bully Pros. I received several looks back on my way home and had some guy in a ford F150 give me a thumbs up. HAHA, thought that was cool...
