What's the deal with repair parts these days???

So, I'm a Land Rover guy. I bought my first one, a 64, in Aug 73, in Jan of 74 I traded it in on a new 73 at the dealership some 40 miles away. I was 22 and new nothing about cars having just got out of the USN. The next morning there was a huge oil slick under it. I called the dealer, who said...

My storage trunks and suggestions to organize better?

That's a Pelican case I picked up off Craigslist with a factory padded divider, I guess for maybe camera stuff. I have that box filled with kitchen/fire stuff. The white bucket with the blue lid is my coffee set up, stove, Stanley kettle, 2 kinds of beans, cups, coffeemate, lighter, filters, etc....

My storage trunks and suggestions to organize better?

I've been using Action Packers since the 70's. Only drawbacks are I can't sit on them and there is no dust seal. I bought some edge seal and that helped with the dust issue. I also use Pelican cases or Nanuk cases for the durability and sealing. But hey! a plastic bucket with a lid works too...

    Build ideas

I'm kinda suprised no one addressed this. If you hit a bump and it goes crazy, something is loose in your suspension, bushings, connections, something. I hope you got it all sorted by now.

Boondocking has always confused me. We used to call our boots in the Navy "boondockers", What does boondocking have to do with boots?

US West CANCELED - East Bay - Black Rock Desert Trip Sept 2024

Great place to go! I first went up in the summer of 77. Been there many times after, not so much since Burning man ruined the desert. They bought up a lot of the Free places to go , Fly Geyser and Cottonwood Canyon and put up keep out signs. Taught my kids how to drive on the playa. Not sure I...

cleaning cooking wear during and after a trip

Like Ronald Howard said ^, I use the chainmail cleaning pads found on Amazon. Sooooo much better than steel wool! It doesn't take off the seasoning just the stuck food bits. I try to not use dishes, by myself I eat out of the cook wear. If I have a fellow camper paper plates or bowls. I use Dawn...

    Bear care

I keep a bear barrel with 3 days of food in case a bear gets my daily food. Usually I camp in the desert and the rodents are a bigger problem. When bikepacking I used a bear hang, didn't cook near where we slept or hung the food. Remember things like lip balm, deodorant smell mighty tasty to...

    Rodents

I was camping in Nevada and stopped at a spring the pioneers used crossing the Nation. Left the door open as I took a few min to look around. Then continued to my next destination and set up camp being sure to keep the doors shut. Got up the next morning to find the bag of trail mix on the front...
