Diamondback HD Tonneau Cover for Gladiator

Diamonbacks are awesome covers. I had one on my Tacoma. If I were in the market for another cover, I wouldn’t hesitate to get another Diamondback. Might help stating where you are located.

What's the deal with repair parts these days???

Well crap. Sorry the fix wasn’t that simple. At least you know what the problem isn’t…

2024 East Coast Overland Trip (FEELER)

I wouldn’t be able to take that much time off from work, but I’d be interested in possibly joining in part of it. I’m in the eastern panhandle of WV Many, but not all, of the fs roads in the Washington/ Jefferson/ Mon Nat Forests are gated after a certain date for the winter. Not sure how...

What's the deal with repair parts these days???

@grubworm, Did you get your wife’s jk squared away? I ask because a few months ago the dash displays on my ‘17 jk would randomly go haywire. Short story to the solution was cleaning the battery terminals and making sure they were tight. Someone on another forum had similar issues with a bad...

    Overland the Red

Anyone else here attending this event in KY? I haven't seen any postings about it. https://northologyadventures.com/overland-the-red We're planning on making a two day trip back home by way of New River Gorge. I saw this morning that weekend is also "Bridge Day" at New River, so hopefully the...

Will National Forest Service Offroad Trails Close with Government Shutdown?

Ha! You haven't spent any time then exploring the George Washington/ Jefferson/ Monongahela Nat Forests in the mid-Atlantic area, then. Not a criticism of you, so please don't take it that way. Seems like over half of the roads are gated closed except for a couple of months in the fall for...

    Allegheny-Shenandoah Overland Loop?

How was Union Springs? I went in that way last Nov and there were a couple of ledges that had gotten dug/ rutted out that gave a bit of a pause with a stock suspension JKU. It wasn't that bad the previous times I traveled that route.

    People suck

I'm venturing a guess that was one of the easier to access sites. Thank you for cleaning it up.

    Virginia OLB Members

I’ll take a stab at answering your question. Not sure how often Shawn logs on… You are correct, the national forest system is nearby and it does offer wonderful get-off-the-highway opportunities. However, for those seeking more offroading challenges, such as rock crawling, the national forest...

    Potential Suitable Routes

I’m not familiar with Braley pond, although that doesn’t mean I might not have been past it. There are numerous camp spots along the route in from 33. There are a few down around the lake and some closer to the top of Flagpole. There’s also a few on the Reddish Knob side of Flagpole as well.

    Potential Suitable Routes

Depends Depends on the route. Taking Union Springs into Flagpole, no. Coming in from rt 33/ Sweitzer/ Skidmore Lake, probably with some careful wheel placement. Coming in from Briery Gap rd (paved) shouldn't be any problem as the route into Flagpole is mostly groomed gravel. The road up to...

    Potential Suitable Routes

The vast majority (but certainly not all) of the fs roads in the Jefferson/ Washington/ Mon forests are gravel. I use the interactive map extensively when planning my adventures. Zoom in, click on a feature/ road and a window will open with more info. Forest Service Visitor Map Hope this helps

    Don't be "that guy"

A bit off topic, but most ”off road capable” car commercials don’t do us any favors, either. Social media will be the demise of our society

    Dynamic Balancing Beads

I have to disagree on some points. For road use and light trails, then I agree, beads should not be the initial go-to. I used them on my CJ with good results, because I used it as a road legal rock crawler. Having chunks taken out of the tires while wheeling was not uncommon. So dynamic...

    Dynamic Balancing Beads

I haven’t used the actual bead product, but have used the budget friendly way of using airsoft pellets in the 33” tires on my CJ7 and thought they worked very well. From what I understand, they work well with a vehicle that is not quick to get up to speed. That allows for the beads to migrate...

Cancelled IKO Overland - The WV/VA Boundry Loop

Interested and watching this thread. A lot depends on when it happens. You know, those annoying adulting life commitments. I’ve done a fair amount of exploring in the GW and Jefferson forests, at least the northern sections if you want to pm me.

George Washington & Jefferson National Forests Recommendation

In addition to a mapping app, I extensively use the Nat Forest interactive map. Clicking on a feature ( road, campground, etc) opens a window with more info. https://www.fs.usda.gov/ivm/index.html?minx=-9093142&miny=4419886&maxx=-8506411&maxy=4706372&exploremenu=no Dolly Sods is a good area...
