    New Mexico Overlanders

The road is really mild. I didn't have to engage 4WD and I towed an off-road Teardrrop trailer. It was a good route. Some washboards, a few minor washouts, and some skinny and steep sections, but totally passable with a stock truck. We were able to make it from Mimbres (there's a minimal fuel...

    Chinese parking heater

Is the main unit designed to be installed outdoors? I looked at the description on Amz but it really doesn't say. I am assuming that it would be since it is burning fuel for the heat, but then I see that LED control pad and that throws me off. I have a basket on the tongue of the teardrop and...

    Chinese parking heater

Great find. We used a Buddy heater for the first time last weekend in the teardrop. It was difficult to find a good place to put it. The interior of the trailer is small and it was hard to keep it from overheating the walls. The condensation was also an issue. I like this idea.

    New in ABQ

Welcome, good luck with the new Hilux. Very cool. Stay safe.

    Baker Hot Springs, Utah

looks like a great trip. I will store this in my to-go list for the future. Do you think it would be off-road trailer worthy (teardrop with max-coupler and high clearance). Also, any chance of getting some GPS tracks?

    Chloride Canyon, NM

The teardrop did great. The road was in good shape, no real issues. Some parts of the road were narrow and steep, and there were some minor washouts. I was able to get the trailer through it all, of course I took it on the Kokopelli last year - that was a bit of a challenge to say the least. We...

    New Mexico Overlanders

Brain, we did end up going east from Beaverhead - they both end up at the same place eventually on 52. The east route tends to stay in the trees a bit longer.

Zion and Grand Canyon Camp Spots

I'd suggest the North Rim of the GC. There are some areas that are accessible and not too difficult. You can camp on the edge of the canyon on some of these points and waking up on the edge of the canyon is quite spectacular. You will need a backcountry permit, but there are generally no crowds...

    New Mexico Overlanders

It runs from the Sapillo Loop Road and splits the two wilderness areas. It is called North Star Mesa Road, but also has the designation as FS150. I am not much of a tech-guy, but I will see if I can download the route I mapped on Gaia. Here is the general route for day 2 and 3. Day one was from...

    New Mexico Overlanders

Just got home from a weekend overland trip through the Gila (south to north). We started at the Cliff Dwellings (I met Lanlubber in San Lorenzo - nice chap), then headed on the North Star Mesa Road to the VLA. It was spectacular, great weather, good friends, and beautiful country. I have...

    Chloride Canyon, NM

Glad to find this thread. We are heading down to the Gila next weekend. Planning on south-to-north route along the North Star Mesa Road. It looks like beautiful country. I'll keep the Chloride route in mind for future weekend treks. I will post up on how our trip goes (note - I am taking an...

    Here is my teardrop build.

You Sir, have some talent. Well done! I completed a teardrop trailer project last year (I bought a partially completed project from another builder). I had fun doing it, but looking at yours, I know the attention to detail you had to maintain to get to the finish line. Nice photos of the trailer...

    Colorado trip

Colorado is my "go-to" camping,/fishing/overlanding state. You really can't go wrong in any of the mountainous areas. If you're into campground-type camping, I'd suggest looking at their State Parks system. Every State Park in which we camped was great. Clean, well managed, and in beautiful...
