    Samsung tablet for navigation?

I run an old android tablet and use the Dual GPS puck for the signal. Use a RAM X-mount and it works great. I am having issues with deciding on a navigation app. I used to have an old iPad and used Scenic Maps. I really liked the app because a large section of the US (depending on which section...

    No More Saggy Trasharoo!

Brilliant! Not so much the appearance - digging through the Trasharoo to find the bag opening is a bit frustrating, especially when everything is covered in a 2-inch layer of road dust. Having the opening secured and accessible, and helping to capture any leakage seems like this is worthy of a...

    New Mexico Overlanders

Welcome Brain - I don't think there is a certification test to be called an "Overlander." You've done it, so now you are one! Maybe you can join us on a trip in the future. We just completed a 4-day jaunt to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Cool trip. Also very cool to be working at the VLA...

    Tailgater Tire Table

I carry an REI folding table, but certainly would consider this. I generally set up my cooking/prep table near the tire anyway. Interested if maybe a group buy, or "show price" came along. I agree that the price is a bit steep for a table. Anyone have a company contact for potential group buy?

    Jemez Mts, NM

I have to share one of my favorite Jemez stories. I agree that this area is amazing with lots to discover. I was on a weekend fishing/camping/overland outing with some friends. We stopped in an area that is a favorite hang out for black bears. While scouting the area my trail-dog Banjo decided...

    Overland trailer with a bathroom

Just my $0.02 folks. I agree with @ArkansasDon in that you have to decide on the type of overlanding you want to do. If your goal is to get into the woods on maintained forest service roads then a larger rig (such as the T@B or others) would work fine. We have a Jayco Hummingbird "Baja" edition...

Hey Aaron. Hope all is well with you back in Utah. Keep in touch and maybe we can go on another adventure in the future. On a side note - check out the Overlander series from Expedition Overland on Youtube. They just did an episode on modifying a Tundra into an overland rig - a pretty bad a$$...

    Locking Hitch Pins

As they say...Locks are generally for honest people (or stupid thieves - as noted). The previous threads are correct. If a thief wants your stuff, your stuff will be got! I have the four locking hitch pin set up for my max coupler as well. SIGH.

    Free Samples!

Just returned from a three-day overland trip. Had some mechanical issues along the way that required some wrenching. This product worked amazing throughout the trip and helped relieve the dryness in my hands from the desert air. Thanks for a great product.

    New Mexico Overlanders

Unfortunately, that is on the other end of the state and I don't know anyone in the area. I am sorry I cannot help. I hope that he is doing OK and is safe.

Buying a 2010 FJ - looking for advice

Just a little background. I bought my FJ back in November of 2006 (the year they hit the market- it was a 2007 model). I had a great time with it on the trails. We explored a bunch of the west in the FJ and we loved it. Last year, we decided to upgrade for a bit more room/comfort and went with...

    Custom Expeditionary Trailer

I am building a trailer project and am getting close to completion. I did some research and reached out to the local MVD office. I was sent the forms I need to fill out and bring with me. I will need to get a weigh-ticket from a public scale (usually at a truck stop). The MVD office will issue a...

    When I grow up...

I am pretty sure my first FTO went to work for LP - Glen Doty. Please tell him hello from me. I am sure he'll remember both of us being out at Station 5 together! Stay safe brother and good luck on your build.
