Mobile phone "GPS" work off of cell towers, if you get no signal then....If you want your phone to operate this way you'll need an external GPS module to connect to it. I have no experience with these but think there are better options like a dedicated, true GPS receiver
I looked up the tent you spoke of and it looks nice and roomy for a family but I think it will be heavy. I used canvas tents a long time ago in a place far far away before nylon was widely used. The canvas would mold and mildew when put away even a little damp. Never did that intentionally and...
Gorp, smeegle, jark....LOL! Sorry, I think I understand what you wrote and appreciate the answer but I'm very new to all this so I'm still learning the acronyms. This is a long North to South trail mainly for motorcycles(?) but on many parts in New Mexico it's 4x4 friendly but Oklahoma was...
Thanks but I think I misunderstood the post. I see now where it's continuous trail that, I guess BDR maintains or developed. When I looked at it, well glanced through it (at work) it looked like it was set up for adventure bikes so I was curious if it was a motorcycle only trail or ok for the...
I ordered one back in March of 2021, But canceled my order in December because I got tired of waiting. Ford was not able to give me a delivery date so I bought a 21 4Runner instead
Thanks for the info! Watching the race is more of a bonus, the trip itself is the destination for me and I hope to spend my time exploring the back country around Durango, Telluride and maybe Ouray more than the race. This is the main reason for my rig build. Looks like at this time it's going...
I'm planning to go to the Pikes Peak hill climb June 2022 and am looking for some on mountain camping suggestions. I was thinking about Glen Cove or 9 Mile. Has anyone stayed at either of these or other places that can offer up any advice? It'll most likely just be me (small site, no trailer) so...
Does anyone know anything about Ironman stuff? They have a lot for Toyota's, curious about the suspension parts and bumpers. Anyone here used any of this?
I'm in the process of putting mine together (new guy here) and with things the way they are now and seemingly getting worse, setting it up as a get outa town quick UEV or lifeboat has certainly been on my mind.
Would you have done anything different on your rig when you think about depending on...
Struck a moose in Newfoundland huh....did a bike trip up there in 2010. First time I ever saw one up close and personal, what impressed me most was the size of them....like a cow on stilts! They scared the hell outa me, did not want to meet one on the hiway!
The thought about 35's is more for the eye pleasing effect than practical. I don't think I want to re-gear, upgrade bearings etc just to "look cool" and because it's only a 4x2 there's no real advantage I can see other than ground clearance.
