Tacoma vs 4Runner for overland build.

I like the bed setup. Kicked around putting a bed slide or decked/drawer setup in my truck. At one point had a sleeping platform in the bed but now I store so much stuff back there. Plus I use my bed a lot during hunting season. And when I camp the dogs crate goes in the bed and she sleeps there...

Tacoma vs 4Runner for overland build.

I have a Leer 100XQ on my Tacoma and still have dust and some water get in around the tailgate and where the back hatch shuts above the tailgate. The water isn’t too big of an issue unless I park with the rear of the truck uphill or it absolutely pours the rain heavy. I don’t anticipate ever...

Tacoma vs 4Runner for overland build.

I think it depends on exactly what you’re wanting out of the vehicle. I have a 2015 Tacoma and my parents have a 2016 4Runner. Both have their benefits. As far as offroading goes, I believe the 4Runner is better off the factory floor. But, a Tacoma has more storage from the bed. Like I said I...

    Crusader ZR2 Duramax Build

Nice ZR2. I had one of the old S10 ZR2’s that I loved. Only downside was the lack of room and the gas mileage

2015 Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab Build

It’s very frustrating. My out of state tags are like magnets to them

2015 Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab Build

So far zero issues. The shell has a few cracks already in the fiberglass when I bought it used that haven’t gotten any worse with the added weight of the RTT. I’m the only one that has slept in the tent so far and I’m around 180lbs. I haven’t gotten to install bed rail stiffeners yet either

2015 Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab Build

i hate dealing with va police. The only tickets I’ve ever gotten in my life have been in va. One of them gave me three tickets. Speeding, no registration for the camper i was towing, and the dodge I was driving had smoked taillights

2015 Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab Build

Decided to try to get a decent picture of the ARB bull bar with the park lights turned on. Really like the looks of them. Replaced the bulbs that came with the bumper from ARB with LEDs to match the rest of my trucks lights. Hard to get a good picture

2015 Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab Build

I didn’t even get to make it up to the camping area sadly. I wasn’t sure if I was gonna be able to go at all. Purchased my Saturday day pass Friday night at like 10:30PM lol

2015 Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab Build

That’s a bummer y’all don’t have the Tacoma’s, but the tundras are awesome trucks too. I was looking at them brieflywhen I was in the market but they’re super expensive, especially for a 4x4. I love the looks of the bumper and the install was actually easier than I expected. I have to worry...

2015 Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab Build

After several close calls with deer, a minor collision with Bambi, and a bunch of research and looking around I decided it was finally time to give the Tacoma a face lift and some added protection. I had been looking at CBI Offroad front bumpers and ARB and ended up liking the looks of the ARB...

2015 Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab Build

So I switched up my tire selection a few months back. The mud terrain tires I was running weren’t wearing evenly at all and the ride quality was declining. Changed to the BFGoodrich KO2 tires 265/70/17. So far the ride quality is excellent and they are a good looking tire

    RTT on Camper shell?

I’m running a Leer 100XQ camper shell with a Tepui Ultralite Kukenam Sky 3 RTT mounted on Thule Crossbars. The tent weighs 108lbs. I’m about 180lbs currently and I'm the only one sleeping in the tent. I haven’t had any issues. Tent has currently been mounted on the shell for about 5 months...

What is your Overlanding Pet Peeve?

People blasting music, people yelling or making a bunch of unnecessary noise, people that leave a mess. My biggest pet peeve though is when people bring their loud yappy ankle biter dogs that bark the entire time they’re there. I love my dog and she does amazing on camping trips. Doesn’t bark at...

OB Approved Overlanding/Camping with a dog

Oh no it’s the opposite. She absolutely loves to go for a ride. If I say the word “ride” she gets excited. She just loves having the windows down so she can feel the wind and everything. She doesn’t like when the windows are rolled up which is problematic because I want to go on some fall and...

OB Approved Overlanding/Camping with a dog

I wished my German Shepherd would lay down in the back seat and go to sleep. We drive about 3 hours to go to a campground we’ve went to since I was a kid and she HAS to have the windows rolled down.
