I don't carry tools outside of a few basics. I don't work on vehicles and wouldn't know how to. The tools I carry are basic tools one might want for camping.

I do understand that some are unable to be mobile in the outdoors and if nothing else, at least they can drive to many places. I'm glad we have so much wilderness in Idaho that those lands will be preserved forever (even though many won't be able to access them).

Bought some of the carbon fiber trekking poles from Costco for $30. Came in handy today while snowshoeing in Craters of the Moon.

Drove up to Craters of the Moon with my younger son. The whole park was snowed in but the nice ranger suggested we borrow snow shoes to explore. So we did. Because you couldn't drive here:

I spend almost no time in camp. Camp for me is an overnight stop on my way to somewhere. For instance, when I go to Bryce, I boondock in the Dixie NF. In the morning, I head into the park. So my entertainment is, usually, my telescope and the night sky, reading, listening to music (quietly)...
