it really depends on what LED's you're using and how the installation is. I've had LED housings in my JKU for almost 6 years with zero issues. I paid through the nose for them though which I'm sure is part of the reason, but they've been the best upgrade i've made to my jeep by far.
From what...
A jeep will force you into packing a lot lighter, lolol. But really, start keeping track of what you use and don't use on each trip. Not what you bring but what you use. I have a basic kitchen box that always has the same stuff in it and a basic set of camping gear in a box that always comes...
Yep! when you know how the diff works, it does pretty well.
If the g80 in our truck ever blows up, I'm planning to get a detroit and re-gear the truck. The torsion diffs are great but I feel in a 2wd something that does a hard lock would work out better in the long run for dirt road and desert...
A 2wd truck with good tires and a G80 can get a shocking amount of places. My partners truck is a '03 2wd with the 5.3, a lift and 285/75r16 tires and it does great. You gotta keep the truck moving and let some wheel spin occur but not gun it or let it drop off. It responds well to keeping...
Yep. I'm in the Bay Area so it happens all the time here. In my current place the management doesn't really care, I've taken a lot of my car apart in my carport and no one has really complained. In general if that stuff comes up i tend to take the "Well screw em" approach, LOL. Also helps that...
I think the topless + rain is something that happens to all of us at some point or another. It tends to get me the most in the summer up in the Sierra when those mountain thunderstorms appear out of nowhere.
I just found out my partner and I got approved for a house we were looking at so a welder is going to be on my shopping list REALLY REALLY soon.
I'm so stoked.
Running 315/75/17's on my JKU, Does everything I want and need it to do. And it drives great still and is well behaved on the pavement. Wifes truck has 285's and thats a good "stock-ish" size for her truck and her needs with the mild lift on it.
I haven't. the barricade one looks good, but I suspect that you might be able to wedge a winch plate behind it, attached to the frame.
Our '03 is going to be getting something custom down the road.
The oil leak on my Jeep got to a point where I couldn't ignore it anymore... which means I got swapping the oil cooler out on my Jeep... there was close to a quart of oil under it.
so... needless to say I'm glad I had time to get it wrapped up today
Most of my trips are solo, and I tend to do more crawling and wheeling than overland trips. Even on a day trip I'll have a backpack with camping gear, water/ food/etc so I could survive away from the truck for a couple days, always have hiking shoes.
I have compressor/basic tools/patch/full...
The inside of my jku. It's pretty simple in comparison so some of y'all's. 2m radio is overhead and the phone does all the back stuff. I'm going to get a vector dock thing and some ram mounts at some point and I'm starting to work on a better overhead console for storage and moar switches.
