Clothing and shoes are a huge thing for me, for getting the better gear any ways. I'm super super hard on stuff so it pays off in the long run...
Electrical and bearings in the trucks is another one. Good tires as well.
I also don't cheap out on music gear... I've had performances ruined...
I have one at my desk in my lab. It's a useful sounding board for engineering decisions, it helps you figure out how you feel about something right quick...
My kid is down with something, so we're out. Bummer to miss this but staying healthy for us and for y'all is a big priority as I'm still required to be in the lab. Hope yall have fun. Take lots of pics :P
Not gonna lie, I wish my JKU had a mechanical fan. I prefer them over full electric as they tend to keep more air moving through the engine bay in idle, traffic and low speed crawling stuff.
For the ZJ Grand Cherokees... I think the 5.9 ones had factory hood vents...
Ive been thinking about a vented hood for my JKU for similar reasons, overheating isn't generally an issue with our rigs when crawling but prolonged high underhood temps often are.
My JKU is only 8yrs old, but it has almost 165k on it.. and most of that is stop/go commuting traffic and slow...
I got the truck back together yesterday before band practice. At some point I'm going to figure out how to make some limit stap mounts that can work with the the sway bar but but it's back in a drivable state so I'm stoked. Currently with the kind of cheap procomp prorunner shocks in the front...
SOTA is great, I've sort of been aware/watching/part of it for a while, but I haven't been super active with it because dragging a radio up hills can be a bit of a pain if I'm mountain biking or running. I haven't found it to be super active with A back burner thing for me has been to get an...
I'll have to check that discord out later, I've been trying to motivate my partner to get her license for a while and looking at the online tests was, uh, interesting to see what they were doing logistics wise.
I think the aussies and the overseas folk as a community will have a bit more experience with those trucks than we'll end up with out here. I flat out don't see a lot of those 200's around... even with the toyota guys. That said, they're super comfy trucks. I don't expect you to run into many...
sure thing... it can totally end up being a huge can o worms as I'm finding out with custom stuff we've been doing with our truck. The jeep is way easier in comparison
For the fronts... not 100% sure yet, I have hydro bumps up front so I can't stick em on top of the coil buckets like a lot of other JK solutions seem to. I might have to go to the frame or something, I don't really know yet, might have to do longer hoses as well.... -_-
Just dumping this table of part numbers here so I don't loose it... This is for the harness from the fusebox to the batt isolator and to the oem second batt. Once I get more of the parts I'll do a proper writeup for building the harness, installing the tray, isolator, etc.
Product Detail...
thanks! the cats are big dorks but they're always pretty chill luckily. We got hella lucky with them.
And yeah, building is always fun... a lot of this is kind of a long process of trying stuff, seeing what works, what doesn't and fixing what doesn't work... Speaking of which, I have to figure...
