    Sleeping recommendations

Our system when are are staying in a base camp for a few days, we use those high density foam interlocking mats. This is the first layer. Have used them since our son was 4. Gives us a soft floor for when we are rain bound. It also works as a soft insulated base. Over that goes individual...

    Camp Stove

My current main stove is a Eureka inspire XL. It has run well so far. It is nice because I can lit it to others and use one large tank. There is also a jet boil that will link to it so I can boil coffee water and still have 2 burners to cool from. I it is big enough for my 10 inch cast iron and...

@Baipin it was going to be the Black and White. Colour is just crazy. Cool but Crazy expensive. Thanks for the tip on the Hot Filter.

    What's in your camera bag?

@Baipin Nice set up for the film. Are you scanning negatives or do you contact print? I had dabbled with infrared film back in school. I like the effect, might need to pick up some film and give it a try again. It can create an amazing feel in an image. it is less permanent than...

The best camera bag ever? The Alta Sky 51D Review

Took me about 6 months of moderate use to get a smooth flow with it. The luggage bar makes sense. The Whistler is snug with my big 2.8 telephoto.

The best camera bag ever? The Alta Sky 51D Review

The reason it opens from the back is so that if you need to work out of it you can lay it down in the wet and not get the straps soaked. Though it looks a little touch with the way the straps are mounted. It looks like it will stand up when set down on the bottom? I wonder how easily that...

Time to start shopping for a rig...could use your help!

I drive an XJ, did when I lived in Michigan too. It was stock and it got me down everywhere I needed in the UP. that was not wheeling, all 2 track and forest service roads. In Michigan you are going to have to do a bit of metal work on any thing that is older. All that said I would lean towards...

That it is, the island is a mixed paradise. But so is Northern ontario. Have had many paddling adventures there. Around Killarney and Lake Superior.

    Zulu Molle Visor Panel

As an example I ordered 2 of the Canadian patches from Overland Bound. There was 15.00 CAD extra in taxes and duty. I will pay it sometimes but do my best to get things here. I do so little I have not looked up the details of the rules so am not sure how all things are treated.

    1999 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 questions

Watch for rust, floor, door sill anywhere underneath. The 6 is a great engine, though really preferred it's oil changes done regularly. That is a low milage engine. There are so many after market parts Lots of online forums and other resources for doing your own work. I am on my second 97.

tent storage, fold and roll or stuff?

Fold and role. I have a Eureka Timberline that I have had for, oh man, going on 30 years. It is now my loaner and sees only a little use. I usually pack poles and pegs separately more out of habit, to keep the sharp bits away from the fabric.
