Personally I use a Roof Net from Raingler to secure stuff on top of my drop in roof basket for my Xterra. The good news is they have vehicle specific nets or they do custom jobs it you have something specific in mind.
Are you planning on sleeping in the Xterra or throwing a RTT on it?
Also while there is some aftermarket support, lead times can be long. Just be aware that you'll need to plan ahead and be patient.
