The extra cost of an EAS repair over a coil spring repair is pretty negligible and (to me) not worth the cost savings over what you lose in functionality. For the cost of the conversion kit you could just about replace every major component in the EAS system. I’m curious how long the coil kits...
I don’t agree with this at all. I don’t know which RR he’s got, maybe it’s an early one, but EAS systems as a whole get an undeserved bad rap. By the time it hit the LR3 and the RRS they had it figured out and reliable. I don’t understand why some people are in such a hurry to get rid of it.
I came here because A) there are all brands/types of vehicles and 2) people are generally more civil and open to discussion than other forums. I guess that wasn't so in your case...
It isn't about one certain vehicle, but one certain vehicle got me thinking about it.
I would definitely. The LR3 makes a great daily driver/adventure rig. It's comfortable for my 1/2 hour commute or traveling back to MN and is more than capable for the trails we tackle in our backyard. In my experience it's pretty reliable as well, the engine and trans are pretty good. The age...
Oh I know what I’m asking, I maybe should have worded it different. I’m mostly referring to stock vehicles, although the ability to modify certainly plays a role. When new vehicles come out, the ZR2 Bison and the new Defender are two on my mind, people would rip them because XYZ was so much...
I’m glad you’ve had good luck with yours, but as someone who wouldn’t worry about a salvage title I’d stay away from a flood recovery unless I KNOW the extend of the flooding. Water and electronics don’t mix and if it’s been fully submerged it’ll be a never ending battle of bad computers and/or...
I grew up with a dad that bought totaled vehicles and refurbished them. He did several for my uncle who used them in his business. I even did one with a friend (even though I did all the work) as a summer job in high school. Assuming it's repaired correctly (or know it will be) I'd be all in...
I contend that if Land Rover did themselves a disservice by not updating the original and then discontinuing it, only to come out with something so radically different years later. If they had done what Toyota did with the land cruiser it wouldn't be so polarizing.
I don't think he was saying...
I did't say it's disappointing. People dis it hard core when NO ONE knows what it's really capable of. I genuinely think if you put some decent tires on it, it'll keep up with any of those vehicles in stock form. Now obviously if you bolt up some ultimate dana 60s on one of those Jeeps.... I may...
If you haven't already figured something out, behind the LH taillight is a rubber plug that you can carefully cut and run wires through. This is where my radio antenna wire is run on my 3.
Just found this thread today... I've got an '06 LR3 with a little height added via GapTool, 265/70/18 Cooper S/T Maxx tires, DIY hidden winch mount, DIY roof rack, DIY vertically stacked drawers and planning a DIY dual swing out tire carrier when the weather warms up. It currently has about 215k...
I've owned 3 XJ's several years ago. I find it funny that they weren't "real Jeeps" and weren't very popular then, now the times have changed!
When you can build a 40"+ monster with BOLT ON parts, you've definitely got the market cornered!
There's a manufacturer that has introduced a new vehicle model with the same name as a discontinued model. On The 'Gram it seems to get nearly universal scorn. Doesn't live up to the name, capable of picking up groceries, etc. Funny thing is, it is better than the old in almost every metric and...
