My speculation is the tundra wheel center bore won’t fit over the axle hub. Good quality hub centric adapters can adapt the pattern and add enough thickness that the wheels fit. Your wheels probably have a high enough positive offset that it shouldn’t affect the track width too much.
Of course, but it sounds like he’s already got the wheels and wants them to be useable on both the trailer and the Jeep. That’s why I did what I did, the same rims on both trailer and vehicle.
I ran into the same issue with my home built trailer and Land Rover wheels. I wasn’t adapting 6 to 5 lug, but the center bore of the wheel didn’t fit over the trailer hub. You’re going to need spacers wether you swap out to hubs or not. You can have custom adapters made that will be hub centric...
I’ve got the ST Maxx and they are just fine in Utah snow. I’m not sure how they’d be on hard packed snow/ice in a colder state, but they are studdable if ice performance is needed. I found that true snow tires were more advantageous when we lived in Minnesota where the hard packed snow and ice...
Don’t forget the legion of fanboys who scoff at you for daring to think outside the ‘yota box. They flame you if you speak ill of the brand and snicker at you if you think anything else is on their level. I considered buying an 80 a few years ago, but it was too hard to find a rust free one in...
They’re no different than any other modern vehicle. If your getting an LR3 (or other vehicles it’s comparable with) I strongly suggest you get a GAP tools OBDII dongle. They’re not cheap, but they are pro level and invaluable if you wrench on it yourself.
Gaia started out as free with a one time premium upgrade as well, though I think it was $20. I was a little perturbed when I got the email stating that they were moving to subscriptions. I think they realized it was an unsustainable model if they were going to stay/become the premier mapping...
Yeah, a premium subscription is not required. It does have some very nice maps and overlays that are handy, the private landowners overlay comes to mind. It overlays private land over your chosen base layer and includes the landowner of record, giving you the opportunity to reach out for...
I’m not sure who this one was directed at. If it was me, I run 265/70/18 Cooper S/T Maxx. According to Cooper they’re 32.87” overall diameter. I have about an 1”-1 1/4” of height added via the Gap tool and had it aligned at that height. I had to flatten the pinch seam in the rear wheel wells and...
You could replace all the airbags and the compressor for a little more than the HD kit with the 2” lift. The lines are plastic and from all I can tell very robust. That leaves 3 air valves and 4 wheel sensors. It’s not a complicated system once you wrap your head around it and I t’s light years...
I do agree with the philosophy of the cost of repairs exceeds the value replace it WITH caveats. My example is my wife’s XC90 V8 Sport. It had a timing cover oil leak and then developed a pretty significant rear main seal leak. It was rare model and in terrific shape for a 12 year old vehicle...
Why do you want to covert to coils? I researched this when I became frustrated that 2 aftermarket compressors failed one after the other. Then I figured out aftermarket compressors are junk. I my opinion you lose too much going to coils. With the EAS you get: great ride quality, ride height is...
Is there a OBD2 dongle that’s Apple approved? I used torque back in the day when I had an Android, when I switched there wasn’t a single approved for iOS.
Won’t a cheap laptop off craigslist or the local classifieds fit the bill for HAM programming and diagnostics? I picked up a laptop to run the Volkswagen Audi Group diagnostics for $50. I can’t imagine trying to mount a laptop in my vehicle for nav purposes. People do it, but I wouldn’t work...
