2018 TRD pro VS 2018 Chevy ZR2 for overlanding

Dude, I think it's time to call it a day. You are taking this way too personal. My whole point on chiming in on this tread, and a few others on other media, is to say it's cool that another manufacturer is taking this segment seriously. This will benefit everyone, regardless of their preferred...

I misread what you wrote at 5:30 in the morning. Clearly you have it all figured out and I never should have ever doubted you.

    Tires you choose and why?

I can vouch for the snow performance on the hankooks. We put a set on one of our plow trucks several years ago. After their first use any other truck that needed tires got the ATMs.

Roof rack storage ideas...let's see them!

So how many people/days are you loaded for in that top picture?

    Tires you choose and why?

I just shredded an LT aired down to 25psi, so I think they’re weak regardless.

That’s why there’s a winky face. It’s hard to argue that Toyota’s name was used the most.

Roof rack storage ideas...let's see them!

They make sense from a practical stand point to me. If I didn’t have one, I couldn’t go out camping with my family. I’ve got an LR3, with 5 to 7 people and a dog there’s not much room left inside for gear. I can load a full size spare, axe, hi-lift, shovel and 2 108 quart Plano tubs and hardly...

I’m not sure airbags are a safe subject to bring up in regards to Toyota ;-)

Ummm, which one is it? You own a 2013 Toyota Tacoma Limited DCLB, or you don’t own a Toyota?

Ok, but given your given your comments on how bad it sucks on the trail, it shouldn’t be possible. At all. As to the tires, you can’t complain about a review having sub-standard tires if they’re comparing stock vs. stock. This goes back to my point before, everyone complains about the stock...

Wanted FJ80 Land Cruiser or 4runner 5th Gen

That would depend on your budget.

Wanted FJ80 Land Cruiser or 4runner 5th Gen

You may want to think outside the Toyota box if you’re on a budget. There are many, more reasonably priced, options out there.

    Battery powered tools

I’m a dewalt guy, they’ve served me well for 20 some years. I’ve switched to 20v a few years ago. I love their 20v/60v flexvolt system, the 60v stuff truly has the power of corded, but I can use the battery in 20v tools. Most of what I’ve got is construction related and doesn’t go in the trail...

2007 Land Rover LR3 HSE Build, a little at a time.

Why on earth did you not buy a Toyota!? Land Rovers are the most unreliable piece of... Just kidding, I’ve got an LR3 as well. Nothing beats them as a double duty rig! Comfortable as a luxury rig on the daily commute, extremely capable off road. I’ve put 23k on mine in the last 10 months. (I...

I wonder if the little duramax will be as tunable as the big one? Although I’ve been out of that loop for awhile and the newer ones were getting harder to tune due to emissions.

2018 TRD pro VS 2018 Chevy ZR2 for overlanding

I don’t know about YouTube videos comparing the two, I do know the ZR2 ran the rubicon in stock form. Given your account of how terrible the Chevy is I wouldn’t think that’d be possible. In the YouTube videos, were they comparing with both trucks on stock tires? Are you saying they...

2018 TRD pro VS 2018 Chevy ZR2 for overlanding

I think this is where the Bison is kind of a big deal. ExPo called it a game changer and of course most laughed that statement off. I my opinion it is a game changer in that it shows Chevy is serious in this segment, which will bring aftermarket support.

tent storage, fold and roll or stuff?

I stuff the sleeping bags and fold and roll the tents. The parts tent are usually rolled individually so it can be separated in backpacks without pulling it apart. It barely fits the stuff sack this way. If I do the pole roll method it gets way smaller than the stuff sack.

In snow? I’m not sure that’s the adventure I want driving up a snowy mountain pass at 3am on my way to work for snow removal.
