Welcome and when there is less snow you can expect all us Phoenix folks to be invading your space :) From where you are go west into the desert...

    Gasoline Calculations

Your math is right for the average planning session... And here are some extra thougths. During the trip monitor your usage by gauge, Add fuel from your can as soon as you are 1/2 tank unless you are in real rock crawling country where keeping it in your can might save you from a tank puncture...

That part of the North Rim might still have a bunch of snow... If so on the way to Moab there are a ton of cool things to see in Utah....Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods, Moogy (sp?) Dugway, Bulter Wash, Bluff area and more....

What is your preferred shelter? (Rooftop Tent vs Ground Tent vs Etc...)

I have done it all over the years, from bivy sack to hammock, to 2 man tent, to giant tent, to roof top to inside sleep platforms and truck campers. The current setup is a poptop van, I love that I can spin the seats around and sleep on the floor with the top down if I need to stealth to poptop...

You could do the western end of the North rim, come in from Mesquite or St George and go down to Twin Point or something like that. I love the North Rim camping

If you are thinking of heading to Mexico. Here's what it cost us.

Great write up... I mainly travel to Baja and the cost is cheap enough I rarely even worry about it....at $1 to $1.25USD per taco food is cheap enough to always eat out. When we beach camp I will buy a to go container of meat and have them pack up the tortillas and extras on the side, we just...

Update your old (or new) Garmin GPS devices for free!

Thx for the tip on GPSCity I just ordered the same unit, I need a Garmin unit to load some Baja maps and all my older loaner Nuvi's weren't cutting. The 6in display should be nicer than the 62 series I was thinking of using.

    Your Camping Tables Recommendations...

I love my Frontrunner original design table, I have seen the new ones in person but the basic old one has been on 3 different rigs and gets abused as a food table, welding table, field repair bench and more.

    Base Camp Tables

I love my original Front Runner stainless table, it has been on 3 rigs and worked amazingly well from cooking to field parts repair. I have not used the newer design but if mine ever dies I will go to a cabinet shop and have them bend me some stainless and have a buddy weld some aluminum tubing...

Getting started with longer duration adventures and how you work from the road...

look at the RV forums, from rvnet to cheaperrvliving there are lots of full time people who use North Dakota or Texas as "residency" states for taxes. Since you already work from home then it is just a question of an unlimited data plan for times you don't want to use free wifi. I recommend a...
