I am also LBKA (Left Below the Knee Amputee), lost it at 18 on a moto to a drunk driver turning left, then 3yrs ago laid my bike down on my fake leg and split the tibia needing a plate and 14 screws. Once those were out my leg shape changed and I am still getting used to it as I lost some...
It has Eaton Trutrac's which are helical gear lockers. They just need a touch of left foot braking if a wheel is completely off the ground.
As much as I have always enjoyed flipping a switch I like the Zero maintenance and anyone can drive this of the TruTracs
Around Las Vegas you have the Bittersprings Byway which is by Valley of Fire, that is a day or 2,
I would plan a north rim of the Grand Canyon adventure if it was me....start by Mesquite and come out around Kanab then cruise around to Page and into Flagstaff..
That would give you a great...
I have not finished the interior of my SEMA build Transit but I wanted to get out for some day trip learning so I understand how it handles off road.
Quadvan does a great job on the conversion, the front diff is a Raptor 8.8 unit and the stock Ford 9.75 rear is plenty strong.
Eaton TruTracs...
Oh and if you want to see some pro pics and read Chris's (Expo Portal writer dude) thoughts on the Treehouse (he is tall, I sleep fine up there, and with experience setup is super quick).
Here ya go

Most important info....I am only selling this setup because I had a chance to build a Transit poptop 4wd SEMA project. Nothing wrong with the Taco/Treehouse combo, just don't need 2 killer rigs in the driveway.
Kelly Blue Book puts the truck alone at $30k without all the upgrades it got...even...
I have a red 6L that is 10yrs old and a black 10L that is way old also....always the first thing out of the rig to wash off dust and last thing in the rig to wash hands before driving.
Even a quick lunch stop has me hanging one, just put a bit of paracord and a carabiner on them and easy to hang.
I have been telling folks about my daytrip with the Konza crowd, I really want to come back and do more exploring and check out the old buildings.
Great pics by the way
I think I can make this with 2 rigs....my new poptop 4wd van and my Tacoma with a poptop camper I am putting up for sale.
I will PM if there is still space for at least the day trip part but camping is always more fun and a chance I can bring my father in law in my Tacoma before it is gone.
I have never had any issues in Baja....
I would suggest you cross at Tecate and come down 3 through Valle de Guadalupe and check out the wineries. Even if you are not into wine it is impressive to see how things have improved over the years.
Ensenada is a pass through but at least you will know...
We all know that our rigs get fatter with mods and gear.
Then you have big tires, in my case a 33 is a huge tire for the Transit since it comes with 28's.
So since this is a SEMA build I have a chance to work with RaceChip to take their F150 piggyback setup and tweak it for the 3.5 Ecoboost in...
Thanks for the well wishes, feel free to post SEMA or build horror stories in this thread. Everyone thinks it is always rainbows and unicorns :)
Still testing and I will do an more in depth write up soon but here is a first look.
Just had to bend a bit of door and flex test her
yep the fastest way to know what is going on is to look up PegLegGarage on Instagram and Facebook.
I love the forums for in depth discussion and I will be posting the how-to stuff later.
But since I still have 10 days till SEMA roll in and have to leave Portland and hit Tacoma, Salt Lake City...
It has been a mad dash across the country but the pleasure of working with great companies has made it worthwhile. The frustrations caused by others is part of the process but still sucks.
This is a quick update with limited wifi so I will hit the highpoints…
The Sportsmobile top is amazing...
PLG & Forum Update 10/16 only 18 days to Build a Van
Currently at in the Aluminess Customer Louge writing this up while the shop folks make front bumper magic happen.
Like many things along “the road to SEMA” (I am almost getting tired of saying that), I am sure there will be mistakes in my...
