    Tips for Paper Maps

For Colorado Maps, there is only one source in my book latitude40maps.com They are actually cartographers of the highest caliber. Their maps are works of art suitable for framing. They also print on Tyvek or similar so their maps will not tear or get wet. Take a minute to check them out...

    Overlanding with a Cat?

I grew up with a D8 CAT on the ranch. If there wasn't a trail, I just made one. ;-)

Distance between home and the start of a trail

From my home in Northern Colorado, there are tons of places to go within an hour. The problem is that I have done all of them dozens of times over the last 50 years so they are pretty mundane to me now. People still travel days to see them. Personally I find I end up going farther afield over...

That sink/stove is sweet. Where did you get it? If I had found that, I most likely would have modified my design.

    My jeep and trailer.

Not knocking the design, but from experience, you might want to sheath the front leading edge with diamond plate or something similar because on a trip to Alaska, I found that the dust particles will eat right through the paint. Even a metal gas tank on a vehicle can wear through.

    My jeep and trailer.

You should be proud of a very nice build. I am partial to built, not bought.

    Toughest trail you've been on?

The land was privatized and is closed forever around 2004. It had the nastiest set of ledges I have ever seen. The were very high and closely spaced. When I dropped off the first ledge, the rear came off the wall and it was started over. I gunned it and dropped off the second ledge, and the...

    Toughest trail you've been on?

Both are in Moab. It has to be Upper Proving Grounds (no longer open) followed by Pritchett.

What piece of gear made the biggest improvement to your experience?

first would be the offroad teardrop I designed from scratch and built, and second would be the Chinese Webasto knock off diesel powered heater for inside. While it is not particularly needed for me, it keeps the whining sound coming from the wife to a minimum so I can sleep. I also have his...
