What a nice build. Well done.
I do have a teardrop as well, and it needs some repairs this spring, which made me think about bedliner as well. I like the smoother texture that you did.
Well, maybe not in your price range, but with the experience of having had a YJ for 8 years (why did I sell that thing again?) and now a 4-door JKU since 2011, I can tell you that the 4-door is the significant better Jeep in all regards. Mine just crossed the 150k mark and the only thing I had...
I like your thinking.
however this is one of the (very) few things that I don't like with the JL - Jeeps need to have their license plates in that spot ;-)
Therefore I added my emblem to the other side on my JK ... It seems that the JL is also a bit less round in that spot.
Fair points. Let me do my homework and if I decide to do an upgrade (thinking of slightly taller tires and flat fenders for horizontal space, and some corner protection /think "rock rails"/90 degree bent steel all around the bottom. The bedliner and awnings, *and* I really like your propane...
These are all the reasons that I am also thinking about. I was at the Vermont Overland Rally in 2013 which was in early October and slept like a baby while my neighbors were not so comfy in their tents (it was around freezing at night). And having a kitchen with a fridge was another plus too...
Wow, that was a fast reply :-)
Yes, I watched your videos and am looking forward to more. You definitely inspired me to give the trailer a second look ... I am contemplating to sell it (the "big dream" is to restore an old Airstream), and use a bed rack with a roof top tent on our F150 until...
A little bit late, but I really like what you did with the Little Guy here. Especially the frame/fender changes and reinforcement.
Do you have a more detailed "build sheet" write-up somewhere?
We have a Silver Shadow that we bought new in 2012 and it needs some work by now - especially the...
You're welcome. I decided against a combined bumper/carrier because that is another thing to open and close vs. a reinforced hinge setup and reusing the stock carrier. Typically it is not the tire carrier that gives way, and the stock one is solid.
There are a couple of posts about this topic on the site, but I'll play ... I assume you have a hard top, so your mileage might vary, but I have a Warrior Products Renegade roof rack on my soft top Jeep. I bought it because I think that full size roof racks look silly on fastback tops or open...
I am running a similar size as you for 120k now on my JKU (first Copper STTs, and now Dick Cepek MTs), and am using the stock fire carrier with new rubber stops that shall stop the wobbling between the spare and the tailgate (however you call those things).
After 100k with the E-rated tire on...
We have both in our family, and I recommend the truck option.
Back in 2011/12 we bought a JKU and a teardrop trailer, and we did a trip from VA to UT, NV, AZ. The boys were 10 and 12 at the time and it was "ok" in the Jeep (with a cooler between them for beverages and peace keeping, the trunk...
