Homestake dry campground is about 5 minutes from the Racetrack. It's listed right on the DV National Park map

You're still calling your video a trail "review"? Did none of the feedback from your ExPo thread get incorporated in the video? Calling this of "review" of the Rubicon is a misleading exaggeration and IMO it borders on frivolous click-bait...
Mid May is optimistic for Corral. The trail tops out over 8k feet. And we're getting lots of spring snow currently. Plus plenty of shaded spots on the trail that hold snow.
On my 90' 4runner I welded a link of chain to the t-case shifter. When I put the transmission shifter into reverse, I can lock the two shifters together, so you're unable to shift. This is addition to a few kill switches on the fuel injection circuit are what I've done in the way of vehicle...
Go to Google and search "Gobi wait time". Dozens of threads across the forums with your same question. Here's one.

19 weeks with zero communication seems to be par for the course for Gobi...
At the very top of that NP map screen shot you see 'eye of the needle' and Inyo Mine. Inyo mine is a great overnight spot, easy scenic trail getting there, mining leftovers/structures etc. Plus just out of the way enough to be uncrowded...

In 93 you get the 4.5 liter straight six plus factory front and rear lockers. I've heard 91 and 92 80 series as being for "enthusiasts" only. I'd stick with a 93 or older.... or get a 100 series ;)
I also pieced together a C02 tank for filling tires. Got a 20 lb tank from CL, and bought a regulator and hose and fittings separately. All in it was about $150.
The biggest drawback to Co2 is getting it refilled. If you have a convenient place to refill that is near you then that makes tjings...
My bigger concern would be the amount of weight up high and how that weight effects your center of gravity, vehicle handling, vehicle performance/braking during an emergency maneuver like a sudden swerve.
On my homemade roof rack I've had several adults standing up on the roof rack, and it...
If I were in your shoes I'd do this:
Panamint Springs > Saline Valley > Up Lippincott Rd. > Racetrack.
From the Racetrack (or Teaketttle Junction to be exact) you can head north to Ubehebe crater then back down the highway to PS, or from teakettle you could loop around the Hunter Mtn. area...
DV has a Facebook page specifically for road conditions...
As for day trips you have a lot of options, that guidebook will help. Panamint Springs is a convenient starting point. If you truly have the whole day you could do Titus Canyon, or Racetrack, or even the Saline hot spring. It really...
Are you referring Bald Mtn. near Shaver Lake? There's a bunch of NF all around the trailhead, and multiple other trails in the area. You could even camp up on top of Bald under the old fire lookout. But yea, with the recent snow dump I would not count on being able to get up there for awhile...
Not sure how far south you consider to be Central CA, but Big Sur on the coast has a few nice fire road camping options, some with incredible views:
Also Carrizo Plain is beautiful and pretty off-the-radar, March is when the wildflowers begin to show up:
1) the 2nd battery is grounded to the starting battery
2) batteries are wired in parallel so when connected it's like having one large battery
3) there's a circuit breaker between the 2nd battery and the auxiliary fuse box. The aux. box is rated to carry 120 amps so it needs a CB to protect...
I made a tray for my yellow top aux. battery, it's in my dual battery thread if you're interested.
