    What's on your roof?

On the roof I have an RTT and a light weight cargo rack with our lightest gear in it. Maybe 300lbs total on the roof at most. I am more concerned with a trails tree clearance, than off camber weight. I have pretty heavy duty suspension with great articulation. Also running heavy 35" x 12.50...

    Shopping for a Rubicon

You dont want a 4" lift, that gets into another geometry problem with steering parts, linkages etc etc. I have 3" and that changed my steering enough to need new parts to correct. Ideally a 2 1/2" will get you where u want to be and leave you 35" tire option should you desire the clearance. Good...

How do you handle your propane needs?

So as an update, I have the rack built and welded on the tire carrier. Here is how I mounted the tank.

    2016 Jeep Patriot Sport FDII

Skid plates too. With the lower clearance you want to protect the belly. Rocks are unforgiving.

    Bucks 2013 JKUR Build,Trails & Tales

Took advantage of my only day off this week and welded up the rack. My girl comes out, looks at it , and says "So you sure that tray will be strong enough to support those 2 six gallon water jugs?" So I sat my fat ass on it and asked her...Now do you think it will? LOL Im happy with the outcome...

    Roof Rack: Steel or Aluminum?

I used a light wall steel 1 1/4" pipe. Bends easy, welds easy, its cheap and really wasn't heavy at all in the end. I primed and rattle canned it so if it ever gets ratty looking or scratched, its easy to touch up. Aluminum was just going to be more expensive and welding it I would have needed a...

    Shopping for a Rubicon

It takes a lot to impress me and the Rubicons , well, they impress me. IMO, I have found that those forum folks and FB folks that normally knock the Rubicons, either have never been in one on a trail, or flat out cant afford one. What I have seen these rigs do, AND from what I have done with...
