Keep all heavy stuff low and light stuff high. When you have everything in a pile that gets loaded just spread the weight as evenly as you can and you will have no issues. Every vehicle is different from size , suspension , rack , gear weight etc so there is no set answer.
Awesome! We have the same setup as you pretty much with tent/annex and the same heater. Your second night description is what I envisioned. The emergency blanket is a great idea for the real cold nights. So we have a 20lb tank also. Did you heat and cook on it for a couple of days in camp or...
Ha...my bad guys. I read Odyssey but my brain was thinking Optima ! Optima's are the culprits I was talking about. The mind is a terrible thing to waste! LOL :tonguewink:
Nothing yet, solar is new to me but it will be for camp lights, radio and recharging devices. Field test is yet to be done but bench testing passed with flying colors for more stored power than I would ever need. It would easily run a fridge. From what I have read, guys are running ARB fridges...
Im only 20 miles off the coast here in CT and we had maybe 6 quick inches and then rain knocked it down to 4...they dropped the ball on our coastal predictions, a far cry from the 18" they said...lol
No out gassing, they are sealed batteries. I do like that inverter. I originally bought a modified sine but some guys here straightened me out on that and I returned it for this pure sine. All we are looking to do is power camp lights, a tent fan and be able to charge lights, video /camera...
This is my concern too. Ambient temps are uncontrollable though and the lid on the case will be left open in the higher heat. The inverter does have a fan that will pull air into the case if it detects heating issues but I could barely sense heat when only powering the items mentioned above...
Thanks ! I actually did bench testing of the entire setup before building it into the pelican case and I was very pleased. It provided power to a radio, 2 large led flood lights, a medium sized fan and string lights (xmas style) for 12 hours just on battery stored energy to replicate night time...
