See if you can find a threaded cap that fits where the sprayer line comes out. I started looking but it was easier to just wrap the hose around and tie off
Yeah, that’s a good storage spot for gear that won’t move. For us, that’s where the dogs generally go so that if one of them starts making fun noises my wife can easily see them. If you are traveling solo, I recommend not putting critters in the blind spot.
The little black one I’ve been using for many years, can’t beat the little bleach pump sprayers. The other one is my new 2 gal 3.0 version and on the back side there’s a valve stem so I can use the air compressor (with regulator) for pressure. Adapting the sprayer hose to a kitchen sprayer was a...
I have temporarily misplaced my mic mount so I used a small loop of wire that also holds the charging cable for my phone. I might just leave it that way since it ended up being more convenient than where I was planning on mounting it anyway.
Keep an eye on the usual marketplaces and you’ll find a set of used wheels for $100-200 that you won’t be upset thrashing. I’ve got some light weight street tires for daily use and most road trips that ride and handle exceptionally, and E rated KO2s for heavy hauling and off-roading. No tire...
Don’t forget to double check the Texas wildfires map before starting, they’ve been popping up all over the place this summer. As of 5 pm yesterday, the Big Sky fire was at 1500 acres burned, 50% contained, and right off the path north east of Fredericksburg.

No, it’s a wildlife management area. What you are seeing are senderos. The property is managed primarily for pasture management, vegetation and wildlife research. There’s an 8 mile paved info-tour access loop but I think you park on the senderos just off the road and can hike around from there...
I’ve been exploring the hidden nooks and crannies of Texas my whole life. There’s tons of interesting stuff to see. The out of staters just get mad that the counties do a sub-par job paving all the routes. They either get mad because there is some form of pavement rather than mud and dust or...
Had a fun trip to Rockport for Memorial Day weekend and got some interesting mileage notes. Got the usual 16ish on the way down and 18.3 mpg on the way home thanks to a good tail wind and keeping the speed around 70 mph.
Also caught and released the largest stone crab I’ve seen in years.
I didn’t come from backpacking, but the logic makes sense. I just got tired of how long it took to set up and break down camp. I also had some close calls with unexpected levels of high tides and seeing people that couldn’t pick up and go lose a lot of expensive gear.
Maybe not always a mountain bike but I make room for some kind of bike. Other than trails and exploring nearby areas, the beach bike was used a few times to get gas, bait and relay messages.
I still regret getting rid of it, it was a strange old Nashiki frame I modified to be a single speed with...
