When I started building my Willys I needed wayyyyyy more light than the stock headlights gave me. I spend a lot of quality time in the pitch black dark going down the road to get someplace to camp or explore. The 2 lane roads out here in the west are dark places.
So I got 4 Grote stainless...
I understand being worried about the battery being charged after sitting for a while. Have you had your alternator checked to find out why it only puts out 13.6 volts.
I agree with you about the 3 D cell Maglight. My Willys has had 3 of them in it for at least 25 years, I have the LED versions now but they're still there. I have one clipped under each front seat and one inside the right rear door. You can hit stuff, dig holes, drop them they work no matter...
It's a 64 (duh), it still has the original paint on it. ;))
Got to love the old Willys wagons and pick ups.
It was part of a run of 525 for the US Border Patrol, special stuff on it and a special body.
There are many types of wire out there for different applications. If you do a little reading you can find just the wire you need for the job.
Here's some of the wire available from a place I get most of my electrical components.

You know I was thinking about what if, what if the jump box doesn't hold a charge, what if something inside fails what then? Over the years I've slimmed a lot of my basic equipment down but I think that I would be hard pressed to do away with my jumper cables (I've got 1/0 cables) they're rock...
I realize most of you won't be interested in this kind of tank but it's what I'll be putting on the trailer I'm building for a buddy of mine. It suits his needs and will tuck up under the trailer out of the way and not take up needed space.
I finally got a 12V/120V fridge freezer this summer. After a lot of research and time talking with people that owned them I bought an ICECO JP50, it has a Danfloss compressor with a 5 year warranty.
I'm impressed with it, it works well and is very quiet. So money well spent!
When I lived in WY I drove down to SLC and looked at the Springbar tents. I got the whole tour of the place in the back where they make them and the huge empty spot where they'll (at least at the time) help you set your tent up. I am kind of sorry I didn't buy one now.
The tent I've got now is...
I hope it's ok to reply to an old thread instead of making a new one.
I needed a couple of bumpers on my Willys for a 2 week trip to CO. I had a piece of 2X6 1/4" wall tube and use that to whip up a couple of bumpers, they each have 2 D rings that are reinforced and in line with the frame...
