When I bought that stock, they didn't make them for the take-down model. If you look closely, you can see that I cut the buttstock in half, and used the factory forend. It's not perfect, but most people don't notice unless I point it out.

I typically take some combination of this trio, depending on the destination... I like the collapsing stocks, both to save space, and because it enables my girlfriend to shoot (with a proper fit) as well. The 10/22 gets really small...

Anyone want to caravan down, from anywhere north of Sacramento (we're in Sac), on the 22nd? We'd like to take the scenic route...

I've been told that you can even use a tiny padlock connecting the zipper to the ring on a soft case like this... Just don't bring any mags that hold more than 10 rounds :-(

You did say "Survival", not defense, right? Hard to beat the Ruger 10/22 Takedown. Fits in a backpack. Ammo is cheap and lightweight. Would still carry a big pistol too :-)

I rode my Mountain Bike from San Francisco to Mexico in 5 days. Lost the feeling in several of my fingers for 6 month. Now I ride this... :-) Not as fast, but 10x more comfortable!!!

I'd love to explore Canada more, but don't, specifically because of the gun laws :-(
