This tire was brand new (when I put it on my spare tire carrier 12 years ago). When I needed it, last week, it would still hold 50psi. This is a photo of it after 1 mile on a dirt road...
NOTE TO SELF: Rubber doesn't like sun ;-)
True that, but with my lift, bumper, tire combo, angle hasn't been a problem, yet :-) The locking pin is impossible to get to with any kind of cutting tool. Easier to steal the jeep. As far as "the hassle" of moving it from front to rear??? If you're in a situation where you need to winch...
My schedule makes it very tough to plan trips with other people. Consequently, I do a lot of trips without another vehicle along. Several times, I've been in situations where either a mechanical or electrical problem has made progress impossible, with no cell service. For life threatening...
I wouldn't have it any other way. It stays on the front, but can move to the back. Very handy if you change your mind, after getting stuck, about which direction you want to go. Also, is great for narrow trails when the guy behind you needs some help. Mine plugs into power at both ends.
Check out the Kel Tec KSG. You can find terrible reviews on-line, but I know a guy with one, and he loves it. Bullpup design makes it very compact (26") has twin Mags (7 each), so you can load slugs on one side and birdshot in the other. Watch this review:
I like the versatility of the shotgun. Try shooting a squirrel, or a bear, with a .223 round. You won't be happy with either result ;-)
I'm a huge Glock fan, but for a "car gun", I prefer the .357 to the .357 Sig, for the same reason. My girlfriend can shoot 38 Specials, and they even have shot...
If you're serious about getting the best shots, don't dismiss the DJI Osmo. They make a suction cup mount that you can put anywhere on your rig, and you have COMPLETE control of the camera and gimbal from inside the vehicle (including pan, tilt, zoom, and start/stop) using your smart phone.
I carry (in the Jeep) a .357 with 6" Barrel. If I'm in Bear Country, I have a Model 1300 "Home Defender" 12 Guage with AR style stock (collapsable - see photo), loaded with slugs.
It's a good idea though. We just went up to Poker Flat, CA, and the Sheriff's office had a sign posted on the trail...
