Longstanding Trek guy here. Don't ride nearly as much as I used to and when I do it isn't nearly as aggressive as I once did. I still love to get out when I can though. There are a lot of quality trails in Pennsyltucky and I don't live that far from from the little mecca of Jim Thorpe.
Tested out my iKross iPad mount, Dual 150 external gps, and the ScenicMap app today. Just a buzz around the towns but hey.. everything works. I stumbled across the iPad mount as a lightning deal on Amazon but as an alternative to drilling holes I'm pretty pleased with how sturdy it is. Cheap as...
Living in a state with this little prick of an insect and seeing what it can do I never transport wood. I will always either forage or purchase if I must near my camp site. Small price to pay vs the destruction they bring with them.
After waiting what seemed like an eternity the lift kit came in so I didn't waste any time installing it. It's a 2" kit but I went with an extra 0.5" in the back to compensate for weight. A nice addition to the 8.7" ground clearance the car came with. Wheels/tires should be in this week.
From the perspective of sinking into a soft surface it's great but it certainly comes with caveats. I imagine you've thought of this but it bears mentioning. With the wheels inop the jack will no longer be able to pull itself under the vehicle as it lifts. What will end up happening is it will...
Awesome functional stuff @FozRoamer! Looks amazing too! I didn't know you were here as well cause I was just looking at and sharing pics of your car on the portal. That rear bumper is exactly what I want for my lifted Outback.
Took me a minute to locate the sample you were using as an example. Scenic map, admittedly, does not have all of the dashed lines (unmarked trails perhaps) that exist to some degree.
My small but growing collection. I need to get to get one of those patches from you @Tri-State Overland and I'm not on the gram.
I wish that were the case in the Subby. No bueno as it doesn't have a Velcro friendly surface to be found anywhere. I'm adding sticky back Velcro to cover the...
I'd probably say winch.. if I had one. I'm tempted to say my most recent addition, a #murderspork. Simply because it's a ridiculously badass shovel but I'm a huge fan of plasma rope. I love my Bubba Rope soft shackles. It's almost disturbing how thin and light they are while still being so...
I love Frontrunner boxes for the same reasons @1Louder. Square, stackable, tight sealing, and various sizes.. and my wife doesn't need to know how much they cost haha.
1537 officially checking in!
I imagine I received my membership package early last week but had to wait til I arrived back home today to actually open it. As others have mentioned the amount of care that goes into the packaging is impressive! Thank you @Michael and @Corrie.
Since apparently nobody else uses Scenic Map I thought I'd show a screen grab so people can see how awesome the 3D topo maps are. The views are infinitely adjustable via pinch/slide/twist and can also be viewed as satellite images. The only downside I see to the app is is the sheer size of the...
